A Corner of the Universe
Richard didn't wear his glasses often. With them, everything seemed clear when, clearly, everything about himself was still a mystery.
He didn't mind that his vision was somewhat blurred without them, or that it took longer to comprehend what he was seeing. The sky, the landscapes, and all the colors that he was forced to see everyday were jammed together in his view. And because he was the only person who could see the island this way, he called it his own little corner of the universe, one far away from this wretched prison; he convinced himself that everything he saw was beautiful, even when it clearly wasn't.
