It starts with a dream. It’s nothing special, something that happened ever since his puberty. The face in his dreams is usually blank, doesn’t have a name and he only recognizes it because it always feels the same. It feels real, the way hands ghost over his skin, teeth nibble ever so gently on his lip, breath tickles him. He screams out in his dreams, screams a name he doesn’t know and doesn’t understand. But when he wakes up slick with come he feels strangely good, still a bit out of breath but strangely relaxed.
One night he wakes up from his screams, Ryo’s name still burning on his tongue, erection throbbing from the sensation that felt so real in his dream. He takes a shower in the middle of the night but his heart keeps thumbing as if it wants to jump out of his chest and he doesn’t dare falling asleep again.
+
Shige is jumpy the next day in News’ dressing room, doesn’t dare looking anyone in the eyes because he fears they could read his mind. When he hears Ryo laughter he immediately blushes, wants to hide in his book.
“Shige, are you alright?” Koyama plops down on the couch next to him, gives him a worried look.
Shige tries to swat away Koyama’s hand on his forehead.
“Are you sick? Ne, because if you are sick you should go home and take a rest.”
“I’m not sick!” Shige splutters, dares to look up.
He meets eyes with Ryo who gives him a funny look and Shige can’t help but shudder.
“I’m going to make you some tea.” Koyama announces and gets up.
“I said I’m not sick.” Shige groans, tries hard to let his look not drift over to Ryo again.
“But you look tired and exhausted. I’m getting you tea and something to eat.” Koyama’s words are final and Shige groans.
He buries himself in his book but jumps again when the couch dips and he knows, without looking up, that Ryo’s sitting next to him. He feels his stare.
“What are you reading?” Ryo asks but it’s in a mockery way and Shige knows he’s not really interested.
“Nothing!” Shige squeaks and turns his back at him just in the moment when Ryo tries grabbing the book.
It was a mistake, Shige finds, when Ryo’s hand grabs air and he falls over, bumps into Shige and suddenly his breath tickles his skin and he’s close, too close and Shige finds it hard to breathe. Ryo doesn’t move for a moment too long and Shige’s eyelids flutter but then Ryo leans back again and the moment is gone.
“You’re boring!” Ryo exclaims and goes to steal Massu’s food instead.
+
Dreams turn into fantasies, into pictures and sequences, into feelings and sensations. Sometimes he has them when he’s about to doze off, sometimes during classes, sometimes when there is a distinct smell but most of the time Shige has a hard time fighting them when Ryo is around.
It’s Ryo talking to someone, it’s Ryo laughing, it’s Ryo sitting next to him during interviews, knees and thighs bumping, it’s Ryo looking at him through dark eyes and Shige is almost positive he exactly knows what Shige is trying to fight.
“Relax.” Ryo one time whispers to him when they get paired up for a shooting.
“I don’t bite” the Osakan adds but there is mockery dancing in his eyes and Shige bites his tongue before he can answer “You did last night”.
“I’m having exams soon.” He feels the need to say as if that explains his current jumpy state. It’s a lie and from the look Ryo gives him he knows it.
The photographer seems to be a RyoShige fan, tells them to give each other bedroom eyes, to stay close and if Ryo can hear Shige’s loud heartbeat he doesn’t say anything.
At that night he dreams of Ryo’s hands and his whispered “Relax”. It begins with featherlike touches of hands that are slightly rough from playing too much guitar and yet touch him ever so gently. It ends with nails digging into his skin and eyes so dark and full of lust Shige can’t avert his gaze.
In his dreams Ryo never screams and Shige sometimes can’t stop himself from wondering how it would sound like.
+
As embarrassing as it is Shige finds he can’t keep it to himself anymore. And there’s only one person he confide in: Koyama Keiichiro. Shige knows it’s a risk because chances are Koyama ends up telling Tegoshi and the law student shudders at only the thought of Tegoshi knowing delicate information like that.
Koyama looks, mildly said, shocked.
“Like- you dream of- having sex with- Ryo-chan?” Koyama repeats, voice hushed even though they are in Shige’s apartment and no one can hear them anyway.
Shige slowly nods.
“Do you love him?”
Shige stares at Koyama, hard. But then realizes this seems to be Koyama’s logical way of thinking.
“What? No! He’s an ass. I- I guess I’m just using his face or whatever for- I don’t know. Something psychological.”
“Well, but in that case you should ask Tegoshi, right? He’s the psychology expert.”
Shige looks scandalized.
“Do you even have the slightest clue what would happen if Tegoshi knew about it?” Koyama gives him a puzzled look. “He would use this against me for the rest of my life. Thank you, no thank you. I’m just going to have to get this out of my system.”
Koyama stares at him, hard, long. Shige can almost see the wheels turning inside Koyama’s head.
“Well, there’s only one way to get over it then, right?”
They stare each other down. Then Shige understands. His face starts to burn.
+
Shige really is not the type to seduce others. He can’t remember ever having seduced someone. But despite Koyama being stupid, his reasons made sense. If Shige wanted to these dreams to stop he had no chance than to find out how reality looked like.
And so Shige takes all of his courage and asks Ryo out for drinks.
The Osakan gives him an odd look because really, they have been out before but it was always Ryo doing the asking- in weird roundabout ways but still it came from him. Ryo stares him down, hard but then shrugs and agrees.
From what Shige knows Ryo gets really touchy feely when being drunk and so his plan is to make Ryo so drunk he would do anything with Shige and then forget about it in the morning.
The only problem is that Shige is a lightweight when it comes to alcohol while Ryo can endure a lot more. Shige tries a variety of tricks but Ryo seems to look through all of them and in the end Shige is so drunk he can’t even form a proper sentence anymore.
When Ryo brings him home Shige’s mind floats between reality and dream and he can’t differ from what happens and what not anymore.
He sees Ryo’s face funnily dancing in front of his eyes and leans forward but when he wakes up again he doesn’t know whether they really or kissed or whether it was only his mind playing tricks on him.
The only thing he knows is that he will never touch alcohol ever again and that he should really stop playing Cassanova. He fights against the fantasies in his head and the thoughts of what happened and what not. He’s still wearing all of his clothes and there’s not the slightest evidence of any sexual activities in his bedroom and so Shige figures it was all just a dream again.
Ryo still gives him funny and meaningful looks when they meet in the agency again and when it’s only the two of them, Ryo whispers in his ear:
“Next time I show you how to seduce someone.” And then proceeds to walk away.
When he’s just about to turn the corner he turns around and the grin on his face makes Shige shudder.
+
Shige wonders whether it hurts Koyama to think. Judging from the way his face his crumbled it looks like it.
“So you have no clue what happened?” Koyama concludes and Shige nods in defeat.
“He makes me crazy.” Shige moans into his pillow.
“But it seems he figured exactly what you wanted to do.” Koyama continues and Shige whines.
“Ma, I wouldn’t worry too much. As far as I know Ryo-chan he’s way too curious to let this slip away.”
“That doesn’t help at all.” Shige whines and chucks the pillow at Koyama’s head. It bounces off beautifully but the history graduate is too concentrated to even realize it. Instead he just takes the pillow and hugs it close to his chest.
He turns around to face his best friend and brightly smiles at him.
“But now you only have to wait. This is perfect, you know. Like we laid out a bait and only have to wait for Ryo-chan to trip into it.”
Shige cocks an eyebrow.
“He’s just going to mock me for this for the rest of my life. And while I am going to die he will have the greatest fun on earth. God, I just want do die.” Shige brawls and hides under his blankets.
“Do you still dream of him and- erm- having sex?”
Shige just groans.
+
It’s “ordinary” suddenly filling the silence of the night that has Shige standing straight in bed- pun intended.
“Shit” the law student curses while trying to gain control over his body again and searching for his mobile at the same time.
“Ngh!” he makes after finally picking up.
“Shige-chaaan, have you been dreaming of me right now?” Ryo answers him, voice low and almost promising.
Shige splutters something unintelligible.
“What did I do to you?” Ryo continues and Shige wonders for a second whether Ryo has a part-time job at a sex hotline.
“What the-“ Shige tries to say but Ryo just chuckles.
“Was I gentle? Or was I fucking your lights out? Or do you like fucking me?”
Shige decides it’s time to just hang up. He thinks for a second and turns off his phone completely.
He shudders on his way to the shower.
+
Shige tries to ignore the banging on his door for as long as possible. He refuses to get out of bed for the rest of his life. There’s no way he could ever meet Ryo again. Not after this phone call he was positive wasn’t just a dream.
He hates Ryo, hates his mockery voice, hates how the Osakan always tortures him. And he hates Koyama for his super plan of seducing Ryo. He should have known right from the start that stuff like that would get shot back at him straight away.
“Shiggy-chaan, open the door!” Koyama yells desperately for the nth time.
Shige sighs and finally proceeds to open the door. Koyama looks worried for a second but upon seeing that his best friend was still alive and healthy he threw his arms around him and wailed something about thinking he had died.
“Shige, what happened?” Koyama asks, refusing to let go of his best friend in case Shige decided to vanish into thin air or worse if he did.
“I’m quitting News- and the agency for that matter.” Shige huffs, trying to get rid of the long limbs that are his best friend.
Koyama looks scandalized.
“What?” he squeaks. “Why? Because of Ryo?”
Shige winces as he gets reminded of last night.
“He called me! In the middle of the night!”
“And that’s- not good?”
“Are you kidding me?” Shige squeaks “This guy is just mocking me! I refuse to meet him ever again. Or anyone else.”
“B- but you can’t just quit News. What about me? And the member-ai?” Koyama pouts teary-eyed and he even manages to make his lip wobble. Shige just glares at him. Koyama sniffs.
“Would you stop doing that?” Shige growls and Koyama jumps back in fear.
“Do what?”
Shige flails. “Yo- doing this- stupid- pout.”
“But Shiggy you can’t just leave me alone.” Koyama sniffs again.
“And stop calling me Shiggy!” Shige exhales annoyed. “I’m calling in sick today. And tomorrow. And for the rest of my life!”
Koyama eyes him for a second, then sticks out his chin.
“Fine. But then I will have to tell Tegoshi everything about it!”
Shige flails.
“You can’t!”
“I can!”
“Can not!”
“I can and I will. Here, see? I’m already dialling his number!”
Shige groans, Koyama stares hard at him. Shige gives up.
In the end it’s a very happy Koyama dragging a very unhappy Shige behind him into the dressing room.
The first thing Shige sees is a toothy grin on Ryo’s face. The spawn of the devil, Shige thinks. He feels like dying.
+
Shige has developed a plan. It might be a stupid plan but he’s so desperate right now he would do anything to just rub this stupid grin out of Ryo’s face. And so he decides that the next time Ryo will approach him and mock him, Shige will just go straight ahead and jump him. He might make a fool out of himself but he sees only two possible reactions from Ryo: The first is that Ryo is so surprised he pushes him away and calls him things but then eventually leaves him be. The second is that Ryo just goes with the flow which would end up with Shige getting what he- or more Koyama- initially planned.
For Shige it could only be a win-win situation. The only bad thing is: Ryo doesn’t approach him. Not even once. It’s as if he knows what Shige is up to and refrains from getting too close. He only throws him meaningful look from a safe distance and sometimes mouths very distinct things and occasionally even delicately licks his lips that has Shige splutter and blush.
Because he fears Ryo will call him again in the middle of the night he cautionary turns off his phone before going to bed. But Ryo still slips into his dreams no matter how much Shige fights it off.
It’s as if Ryo somehow managed to get into his head to hunt him down and refuses to get out again until- yeah, until what?
Shige tries not sleeping but then he ends up falling asleep during the day and waking up where people can see him is even more embarrassing. He doesn’t dream of flowers and bees and the like only because there are people around him.
+
It’s another evening after a whole day of dance rehearsals for their new single and every bone and muscle in Shige’s body seems to ache. Plus he hasn’t properly slept in days and all he wants is just to go home and have a nice bathe.
He thinks he’s the last one to leave the dressing room until Ryo suddenly steps out of the shower room. Shige turns beet red when he realizes Ryo is wearing absolutely nothing and that he stared.
Ryo looks amused.
“Don’t act like you haven’t seen that before.” Ryo snarls, drying his hair with the towel.
Shige lets out the breath he didn’t even know he was holding and tears away his eyes from the way Ryo’s muscles are flexing from the movement.
“I- should be going.” Shige splutters and makes for the door. He doesn’t get far.
“What, you’ve been waiting for a moment like this for weeks and now that you have it just run away like a coward? What kind of seducer are you?” Ryo calls after him, amusement now very evident in his voice.
Shige turns around to glare at Ryo but the Osakan only gives him a cocky grin and doesn’t even seem to think about getting dressed.
Instead he steps closer to Shige, his bare feet making pitter-patter sounds on the stony floor and Shige wonders for a second whether Ryo doesn’t feel cold at all but then Ryo stands in front of him and if he wasn’t so dizzy he would have laughed about the now very evident difference in height.
Shige catches his breath and his mind yells at him to just run away but he finds he can’t move, instead his eyes focus on a droplet of water, slowly tearing down Ryo’s cheek only to disappear in the corner of his mouth.
“So what are you going to do now, Mr Know-it-all?” Ryo whispers, voice low and threatening.
“Shut up!” Shige warns him, grabs Ryo by his hair and crushes their mouths together into an open mouthed, wet and sloppy kiss.
It’s only now that Shige realizes that Ryo is shivering and when he runs his hands down Ryo’s arms feels the goosebumps. But Ryo still seems into teasing mode as he pulls away when breathing becomes necessary. The look in his eyes is still mockery and the grin still not wiped out of his face.
“So how was that? Is it what you thought it would be?” Ryo breathes, voice shaky from the cold.
Shige contemplates pushing him to the couch or just going away. If Ryo likes games, Shige could play as well. But Ryo beats him to it again by stepping away completely now and reaching for his clothes.
Shige watches him get dressed and says nothing. He wants to know what Ryo is up to. And besides he can’t remember Ryo having talked so much during one conversation.
“Don’t turn off your phone tonight!” Ryo continues when he’s finished getting dressed.
He winks at Shige and leaves the dressing room.
Shige’s dick is twitching happily. Shige just glares at the closed door.
+
Shige does turn off his phone with an evil grin on his face. He’s eager to find out what Ryo will be doing if he finds that out.
The constant banging of the door jolts Shige out of his daze. He hadn’t planned on falling asleep on the couch but exhaustion must have come over him while he was watching some boring show on TV.
He turns out the TV and opens the door in complete darkness.
“What did I tell you about turning off your phone?” Ryo spits and pushes his way inside.
“Oh, I was just curious what you would do. I’m surprised you’re here, still.”
Shige watches Ryo disappearing in the darkness. A lot of cursing tells Shige he must have knocked into several things while going straight for the living room- or maybe the bedroom, Shige isn’t so sure about it.
“Does your stupid apartment have light somewhere?” he hears Ryo curse after the Osakan knocked over some books- or at least it sounds like that.
Shige sniggers but does turn on the light in the living room where he expects Ryo to be finally sitting on the couch. Shige stays leaning in the doorway, feet and arms crossed. He wonders why he doesn’t think Ryo is dangerous anymore. Instead he’s highly amused by how predictable the Osakan is.
“So, what brings you here?” Shige finally asks and Ryo glares at him.
“”Shouldn’t you be offering your guest something to drink first?” Ryo replies.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I wasn’t sure whether we were to talk or get it own straight away. Guess I’m a bit too hasty.” Shige remarks sarcastically.
Ryo continues glaring at him but then the expression on his face gets unreadable and he gets up, walks over to where Shige is still standing with a cocked eyebrow.
“Shigeaki, Shigeaki.” Ryo tsks. “Just when I thought you would be the type to whine and whimper you suddenly stand up for yourself and turn the tables. I knew there was something fascinating about you.”
Shige tries to hide his surprise.
Ryo is not standing right in front of him. He grabs Shige by the chin and turns down his face the few inches. Shige knows it’s plain teasing when Ryo refuses to kiss him but only nibbles on his button lip.
“So, in your dreams… What would we do?” Ryo mumbles, low voice vibrating through Shige’s body.
Shige pulls back his head, smirks at Ryo.
“Why don’t you show me what you got and I tell you whether you can keep up with your dream version?”
Ryo smirks challenged. He doesn’t need to be told twice.
+
When Shige dreams it’s about featherlike touches, butterfly kisses and breaths tickling his skin. But sometimes it’s about humming voices, vibrating through his body, about nails digging into his skin, about kisses planted sloppily all over his body. It’s about lazy, slow kisses, the tips of tongues dancing with each other and about open mouthed, wet kisses, tongues battling over domination. But always it’s Ryo he’s dreaming of.
Sometimes it starts with a dream about breath tickling the skin on his neck, about a hand brushing over his side, his hip, squeezing him through the fabric. And it ends with his cock in a wet, warm mouth and slurping noises swallowing all of his come. And with Ryo looking at him, mockery dancing in his eyes.
“You should stop hunting me down in my dreams!” Shige says then, pulling Ryo up, knowing that Ryo is not the type to give without wanting something back.
“Or what?” Ryo whispers, licks his lip and Shige catches his tongue, tastes himself in Ryo’s mouth and softly hums.
“You’re killing my brain cells.”
Ryo sniggers but it turns into a beautiful moan when Shige proceeds to return the favour Ryo was giving him.
“But you know it’s entirely your fault in the end.” Ryo pants and Shige has to agree.
