I thought I had a genius sample-spotting revelation today, listening to De La Soul's "The Magic Number," the way one of the guys says "Get 'em high" sounded so familiar, and I knew it had to be from a Prefuse 73 song. It goes by in half a second, but I still spotted it. I was all set to post it at WhoSampled.com, but SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY FOUND IT.

One more today. Das Racist's "Who's That? Brooown!" samples from A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario" at 1:18. Yeah, I know other people have probably found this one, but it's new to me.

I heard "With A Little Help From My Friends" covered by Tony Mottola with The Groovies on Busy Doing Nothing, and realized that the Avalanches sampled it in "Two Hearts In 3/4 Time." Right at the beginning. "Woah! Yeah! Woah! Yeah!"

Recognized the voice in The Books' "If Not Now, Whenever" from Lost & Safe saying "How are you doing today?" at 1:28. This is Mal Sharpe, one half of comedy duo Coyle & Sharpe and the sample is probably taken from one of their man on the street interviews.

I spotted another sample, this one used by The Books on "If Not Now, Whenever" from the album Lost & Safe. 3:06 into the song, a man says "I can't find the books. They must be in Lahoya."
