Maui Mallard In: Cold Shadow

I've blown a big part of my weekend playing Maui Mallard In: Cold Shadow on the SNES. This is a pretty great game! Sure, it's your standard platformer game, but hey-- let's face it-- it's the best Disney video game you're likely to play (that doesn't involve Sora, I mean).

Story Breakdown: Donald Duck (who is the best darn Disney character ever conceived!) is investigating the theft of a mystic idol that protects the island. Long story short, he deals with all kinds of bad voodoo and becomes a ninja so he can beat the snot out of the creepy natives. You wind up poking around a spooky mojo mansion, whacking ninjas, nearly getting sacrificed, swimming through a sunken ship, and even beating your way through the realm of the dead.

FINAL RANKING: A- - A pretty cool game, but nothing extraordinary about it that makes it stand out. Still, I recommend playing it if you've got some time to kill. I like the heavy voodoo and mojo themes.
