Art Institute of Dallas Print Lab Rules Poster!

Aug 17, 2006 02:31

Hey again, everybody! I'm so excited that I have so much cool stuff to show you! I actually did this about two weeks ago, but it didn't get hung up on the wall and I didn't get pictures of it until recently.

24" x 36" print. Originally inked drawing colored in Photoshop 6.0

The idea I got was to make it look like a comic, mainly because that's all I know how to do, but also because then we'd trick people into reading the poster. They'd think they're reading a comic, but they're actually reading the rules for the print lab! NEAT!!

My hair was being really stupid today and I hate it.

That's me and my boss! She actually gave a thumbs-up with me! She's awesome, and not just because of that.

A close-up of the framed piece.

That's me!

That's supposed to be my co-worker Christy. Since I couldn't draw her for crap, I used weird colors! It distracts you from realizing that the drawing sucks.

That's supposed to be my co-worker Liv. I feel really bad because the drawing sucks and it makes her look kind of man-ish. I didn't mean for it to look like that. I'm sorry, Liv. :/

That's supposed to be my co-worker Antoinett. Her body is a bit too small, but I think it's okay. Lately I've really been getting into giving characters whites-of-the-eye colors that aren't just white-- like the boy's eyes, which're a light brown color. It's fun! Also, see if you can find the MySpace reference! I swear, that's all half of the people do in the homework lab. Check their MySpace. It's ridiculous!

That's supposed to be my co-worker D.D. Since I can't remembr what her new haircut looks like, I kind of pushed her up off to the side. I'm really liking the colors that're behind her.

Those're supposed to be my co-workers Angela and Andy. I hope that's not too mean to Andy by making him eating the candy bar!

Welp! That's it for now. Hope you guys like it! I hope people in the print lab like it! It was a little rushed, but all and all, I'm pretty satisfied with it. That's the largest-scaled artwork I've ever had up on display before!
