life back home.

Leaving my hotel on Monday afternoon was the hardest thing I've done in a long time. Sounds lame, or exaggerated but leaving Melbourne doesn't get any easier, it just becomes harder. The first time I went to Melbourne ever was last April. Dearest father had a medical conference to attend and because I had never ventured to Melbourne, he suggested that this time I tag along. Being told by countless people beforehand that I will, "love Melbourne" that Melbourne is completely, "my city" I grinned and nodded, shaking it off thinking and believing that hey, I'm sure I'll like it but I don't know if I'll be so completely WRAPPED, twirled and smothered in it.

I was so wrong, they were so right.

Three trips later and I was half contemplating not returning to Brisbane this time round. If it wasn't for me needing to complete just another five weeks of school, I'd be in Melbourne now.

I seriously cannot describe the enormous pull Melbourne has on me. It sounds nuts but I feel so completely relaxed, at home and just alive once I step off the tarmac at Melbourne airport. It's the air, the buildings, the people - they smile at you, they talk to you, they acknowledge you (You don't get that in Brisbane). Oh man, and the men. THE MEN *dies*. They're just stunning! And they also acknowledge you, throw a smile your way. I had a gorgeous thirty-something man completely checking me out at this bar I went to. He wasn't seedy, he was in a beautiful business suit, he was just gorgeous (Except thirty and living in Melbourne). But the point is, you don't go unnoticed.

It was so freaky too! Dad and I decided to go and have some coffee and something sweet at this french patisserie... I can't remember the name, it's near FCUK in the city and on a corner and it's beautiful. But anyway, we were about to walk inside when I could have SWORN I saw some friends of ours from Brisbane. Nah, I thought, Melbourne is a huge city with many cafe's and resturants, that would be just too weird.
Sure enough we walk in and there is Eric and his partner having coffee and something sweet. It was so bizarre to bump into them in another city, of all weekends and cafe's.

I also finally caught up with the ever so lover-ly Sam (3x5). We enjoyed coffee at Southgate by the river then moved our way to a cute little alleyway filled with resturants for food before moving around to the arts festival for awhile. It was a great night out with le Sam!

I explored the city, Bridge road, Chapel Street oh and the Queen Victoria Markets!! *dies* The FOOD!! THE FOOD!! I so know where I'm buying half of my food supplies next year.

We also saw a box that had a mother duck and a duckling in it in Bourke Street mall just outside the bodyshop. A man was delivering something there and brought along his duckies. They were so cute and fluffy and gorgeous.

I want to go back home.
