mod post---commenting issues....

this has happened to several community members now, so i felt a mod post was necessary....if you post a link in the comments (which is a-okay to do, as that's how questions are answered, discussions furthered, etc) for some reason LJ is automatically marking them as 'suspicious comments'---even when the link is wikipedia! oh, excellent info!! I'll edit my post for someone to post a new comment on the post asking that their spam comment be unspammed and they still could message me too!!!

very dumb lj! REAL spam is more rampant than i have EVER seen it through the years and they crack down on legitimate websites??

Go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?authas=vintage_ads&cat=privacy and un-check the "Spam protection" option.

that has been checked forever, i didn't just check it (or even know it was there!)....it says it puts POTENTIAL spammers in a special section....now how/why are regular community members suddenly the past few days getting put in this special section when we've been posting links in the comments for years??? this only started a few days ago.....

i don't feel comfortable UNchecking whatever weak defenses LJ has against spam (what i've seen lately it's none---worst i have ever seen in 10 years).....and it actually irks my ire that they are somehow pegging regulars here who are posting wikipedia links for goodness' sake as 'spam'.....

NO worries!!!! Hopefully LJ will figure things out? (HAHAHAHAHA!!!!) No, seriously, maybe they will figure out the spam filtering concept? They had it figured out at one time, but seem to have forgotten it since they're so busy with those new features no one wants! (Have you seen the new profile pages yet? EEK!)
