change change change
it's wednesday, and i've had quite an interesting break from employment. saturday or sunday i will start full time as the photo lab girl for walgreens. i'm very very proud of this job. it represents everything i wanted when leaving flagstar. it's a low-man-on-totem-pole job where the most i ever have to worry about is showing up. no goals, no sales, no forced smiles...a simple honest job that i can enjoy and leave at the door. i'm still so young, this is really all i need until post cosmetology school. i feel much less aloof than i've been for a long time. i'm in touch with my feelings, world, goals, relationships...everything around me is no longer slowly slipping away. i feel accomplished. like i didn't let those corporate slugs get the best of me, i stood up for what i believed in, and i walked away. for two weeks and two days i've been productive. seeing as i actually found another job in a pretty quick time span...it was a much needed change. i've been successfully planning the wedding (which is becoming SO much fun: i'd put links to my dress/shoes/veil/etc. but i want most to be surprised) i've also decided to go to aveda's school for cosmetology. i'll be starting there january first 2007, if all goes slightly well. jacob and i have been better than ever, and i think most of that has to do with my realizations. we are now much more on the same page. oh the list goes on: we are no longer buying a home -huge sigh of relief- since we are rather young and our future might have some more reckless turns in it, i'd rather break a lease than be stuck with mortgage. i've found two beautiful van rooy properties right around 12th and alabama, hopefully mr. rob will be moving along with us to the same area. my photography is going very very well...despite all the candid digital shots, i have been acquiring quite a book of black and whites from the 35mm. i think about posting them sometimes...but then again, i have to keep some of you interested in our show at urban elements this summer!
