All right so i left for Bangalore some time ago by bus, that being KSRTC. This was the first time i was traveling by bus for such a long distance. The bus journey took about 22 gruesome hours, and gruesome only in sense of it sounding that long. Otherwise the journey i found was quite comfortable. I was put through not more than one annoying co passenger who kept complaining about the usage of the center partition to be either in the form of 'front position' or 'back position', i finally retired to that and kept my hands to myself. Also three Hindi movies that played during the stretch of the journey including
DUS,
NO ENTRY and
RUN. Out of the three, NO ENTRY, i felt was the most entertaining and something that would seem to fit entertaining people on a bus traveling for so long.
The bus halted at quite some places at good timely intervals which was quite reliving as it gave some time to at least stretch your body and move about for a while and of course for all the other reason the bus actually is supposed to stop. I reached Bangalore Majestic quite comfortably at around 2:30 in the afternoon. Prem had come to Majestic and he apparently had some difficulty locating me. Later we directly headed to this place called KOSHY'S for some late afternoon brunch. The place is quite a place actually, its got that old world feel and a sense of appealing relaxation owing to its English breakfast items and the whole no-non sense natural ambiance. We had mash potatoes with sausages and eggs topped with a chilled glass of beer and some black coffee.
Later we headed for Prems' place
['' ] in Indira nagar, hung around for a while and stuff. Coming days we went to Stones, Purple Haze
['' ], Empire(some really finger-lickin-good chicken dosas from there) and Le Rock
['' ], and also this interesting place called Indiana
['' ], where you get some really smackin mayo to lick em up with good ol' hamburgers. Also watched
The departed ['' ] at
INOX in Garuda mall. We'd also watched
Flavors sometime during my stay. The day before i was leaving for Calicut i also stayed for a day at my grandparents place. Wasn't there for long but i managed to catch
Ocean's Twelve at night that day.
Currently i am at Calicut, i had taken a bus from Bangalore at night and arrived here in the morning. The bus again was comfortable, i was accompanied by a Taiwanese co passenger by the name Frank, of course that wasn't his real name, of which when i asked i got an reply which i knew if i pronounced or try and remember it - wouldn't get through any time soon. From what i understood Frank was traveling alone and met up with friends at different places, he already had been to Jaipur, Mysore and Bangalore. He was making his way to Cochin and later Bombay. He worked in an hospital and his thoughts about Bangalore and other cities in India were seemingly impressionable. Of course when i asked him, "So did you get in from Mysore?", his reply was, "no i got snakes and water". Now when i think of it, i realize he must have meant "snacks and water". Which still doesn't have any relevance, but it is comforting to know that my question didn't translate to an answer that involved organic lives specially the type that particularly doesn't sound very welcoming on a moving bus!
So i am at Calicut at the moment, doing nothing but kicking back and relaxing. I'll be here for a while and will get back to Bangalore from where I'll be heading out to Bombay. Oh and i watched
Prem Aggan the other day and i tell you its one heck of a comedy movie. Oh, its not a...., oh....., wow,...damn!
EDITED:
So i left Calicut and i was back in Bangalore. Spend a few days with my grandparents, celebrated my cousin Diya's birthday at this place called Eden Park which is off Cunningham Road, also happened to catch
Intolerable Cruelty on Star Movies, Went again to Purple Haze with CNB and Prem - in CNB's words - joined us after our 2nd mug was over. We had a 11:30 am flight to catch in the morning and what Prem considered the occurence of heavy traffic left us with nothing other than leaving the place at around 9 am. So we considered watching a movie and staying up all the way. So we watched
Sin City, which was one heck of a movie. We did but fall asleep, but got up some how and stuff.
Now back in Bombay, back home and its nice to be back after a while. I rode my bike after long and hell this must be how i must have felt when i rode my bike for the first time. Felt good!
