Odds and Ends

a) I saw the premier of the Hills (guilty pleasure) and felt as usual a better person through watching Lauren's shenanigans. I have been and was again really struck by how horrible an employee she is for Teen Vogue. She turns down career advancements for a boy, gets distracted at events she is supposed to be working by talking with friends instead, and then in the Paris episode, she not only doesn't follow the itinerary made out for her and suffers the consequences, but wears an evening dress lent to her for the Paris fashion show out on the town the night before the show, only to spill coffee on it! What a horrible employee, it bugs me that Lauren (fictitious or not) not only wasn't fired but still has a job while all the rest of us are job searching in a crappy economy.

b) I went to get my hair cut at Kenneths and I choose a different stylist simply because the stylist I usually went to wasn't available. And what do you know, I go to get my hair cut and my regular stylist was three stations down from me staring at me, with a look of betrayal as I go to get my hair cut by someone else--awkward! With hair stylists unlike other practitioners there defiantly seems to be a loyalty factor that I just shafted. I doubt doctors would be upset if you went to see someone else...of course they can probably afford to have clients come and go.

c)I am caught in the ups and downs of applying for jobs, mostly the downs though at this point. I've got one interview set up with a suburban school in Columbus that I'd really like to work for but they don't know whether or not they will have a position available (great huh). And then next week I am off to Portland for a job fair there... my hopes though are not very high since I am still waiting to transfer my license to Oregon and I doubt schools there will be interested in me until I am able to transfer the license accordingly.
