So it's the last day of the year! Isn't that spiffy? I wish I could remember more clearly what I was doing on the first day of the year, but sadly I can only come up with a vague idea of activities. Next year I'll remember better, I swear. ...I'll also update more often, probably.
To make up for my crazy lack of updates, and close out the year with

Where do I begin? I'm going to limit myself to the giddy sort of fangirling, because there's a part of me that's a fangirl of every Tales character I know something about. So I'll cut it down to the ones I 'squee' about.
The list is still pretty long, though. Hmm...to make it fair, I'll attempt alphabetical order.
Asch: First because I sympathize with him; his is an emotional story if you dig into it far enough, and you can tell he is the way he is for a reason. But really, I didn't know why I fell for Asch back when I did and I still don't, now. As you may or may not know, however, I have a trend of sorts involving characters with certain hair colors...
Chester: On the color list yet again, this time a blue-headed one. There's sort of a trend going around of...gruff characters, too, I guess. No-nonsense sort of people. ...Actually, I think everyone on this list will be a no-nonsense sort of person, except one. Anyway, Chester...okay, I've fangirled him subconsciously since I saw his art in the ToP GBA book, but I also have this thing...about situations in which my favorite characters get beat up (rather badly, I might add), and as long as they don't die, it's like...fangirl mania. ...So I played the game and Chester sacrificed himself for his buddy and his buddy's new girl, and they thought he died, and...well, there it went.
Frings: Yes, I do squee over Frings. He's that kind of guy, I guess. ...What happened to him was incredibly sad, too. And I felt like his character needed more character - once you've been an NPC, you really feel for them.
Jade: Originally he annoyed me, but his sense of humor and the person behind it are refreshing, and I like having something to laugh at that isn't slapstick. ...The hair and the eyes don't hurt, either. See Kratos for further explanations of why Jade became awesome.
Klarth: Excuse me, but who would not fangirl a crazy white-haired (there it goes again) dude calling down the ruler of all things mana from the sky with a book? I swear he's descended from Raine. Really. ...He's just cool. Something about his personality makes me squee, man.
Kratos: I fell for him the moment he walked in on the fight with Vidarr and saved my sorry tail from death. He was dressed in purple, used a sword, and had magic, and his voice was to die for. ...After the thing, I hated him for a while, but I got over it. He's just that awesome.
Leon: ...Remember that thing about favorites and getting beat up? Wanna know who tops that category? ...He also has purple eyes, which is a point in his favor, and he's not as grar and angry as he appears to others, which is yet another trait among these people here. ...Plus Chaltier.
Luke: He doesn't make me squee as much as any of these others, but I do fangirl him. I think a lot of my fangirling comes from being a writer, and being able to use situations to a writer's advantage. But he's just adorable, and it's hard not to love him, you know?
Nephry: Sorry, but once you've been a character, it's almost impossible not to be absolutely a fan of them. I mean, you've been inside their HEAD, basically, and you wouldn't have done that and survived if you hated it. This is where my sympathy for NPCs comes from, too.
Sheena: Read: Been inside their head. Read: Purple. Read: Summoning, hello? Read: Ninjas are awesome.
Seriously, though...this is another conundrum. I either fangirl her because she's the character I think I'm most like, or because she's the one I most want to be like. Possibly both. ...But similar to Asch, I sympathize with her situation, and when you think about it, bad stuff just piles up on the poor girl continuously, even when things start to look good. ...Read also: Favorite characters and getting beat up. <3 you OVA.
She's just that awesome.
Suzu: That is some sheer awesomeness packed into that little 12-ish-year-old successor. And then the ninja thing, again. She didn't get a lot of facetime in game or animation, but there's a lot to be said for behind-the-scenes sort of people.
No, no Lloyd or Zelos in here. They're awesome, but no squee factor.
Satisfied, Kyoniisama?

Although I am quite surprised that Tear isn't on the list.

...Seriously. If you saw the way I reacted to ToS OVA 4, you'd know what I mean by squee.
