Once again, unoshot blows me away with an excellent fic for Supernatural.
Tin Soldiers: Dean is cold, Castiel is fading, and Sam is surprisingly even keel. Also, someone is raising the dead.
This is a good, solid MotW story with a new kind of enemy. Dean and Sam discover that a young woman raised her mother from the dead after pleading to God for her life; they set off on her trail, and Castiel tags along, but things get rough for Castiel before they reach their destination.
Told from Dean's POV, this fic has excellent characterization of the Winchesters and Castiel; Sam is clever and questioning and the anchor of reason for Dean while Dean suffers and is morbid, and Dean in turn anchors Castiel. As always unoshot has managed to expertly capture the otherness of Castiel, even when he's suffering or upset.
at 15,000 words, roughly, the fic is a solid read. I highly recommend it. =D
