Well, Livejournal, I haven't talked much lately. I've been pretty stressed out, and all of my weekends have something busy and confusing going on. But it's been a very interesting ten days all the same!

I attended a concert of The Fellowship of the Ring, which has since sent me into a massive kick for the upcoming Hobbit movie, as well as filling me with a new appreciation for the astounding film. The way that the music interacts with the story is brilliance, and I never noticed it before.

Then the NEXT Friday was a concert of The Legend of Zelda music (isn't it great? I feel like I'm indulging high culture and nerd culture in one go) which was an absolutely transcendent experience. I mean, Fellowship was tremendous fun, but a large part of the fun was in watching the movie again. In Zelda there was nothing standing between me and the the music, beautiful and full of all these expressions and feeling. It makes me crazy excited for the upcoming game -- if only it was on the Gamecube! I feel like I'm really gaining an appreciation for the beauty of live music.  Which is why it's perfect that I'm currently reading Soul Music.

Oh, I've also finished The Hunger Games trilogy and am left going WOW. And nitpicking, but that's normal.

I love that my paper is on Harry Potter fanfic. I'm finally reading After the End, and enjoying it, except for the Harry/Ginny plotline (cough cough). I can read all the fanfic that I want and call it essential character research. Critical articles on Potter remain few and far between but i'm sure I'll come up with something.

Tonight I ended up sitting -- not with my friends, but just one table away from them, talking to a buddy of mine that I don't know super well, but I like her, she introduced me to the Hunger Games, and we had a whole lot to talk about. It was great. It felt a bit refreshing, after spending so much time with my normal group of friends that I feel a bit run out of things to say. So this was nice. Just for a change of pace. :-)
