Harry Potter Whiplash!
It's been a real blast from the past lately, to use a trite cliche. I have been on a massive Harry Potter kick, and one far more thoughtful and intellectual than I think I was capable of as a young'un.

Also, what I said about getting no ideas was a lie. There was a very cool idea in a fanfic that was mentioned -- how to manage a Muggle/Wizard wedding, make sure that all the guests enter through enchanted archways, bespelled to make sure that the Muggle guests see nothing magical, but just interpret it as a perfectly normal family ritual. That was a very nifty idea. (I won't be using it, but still! Props.)
I now want to read a lot more children's books in addition to rereading Harry Potter -- the Little White Horse, Diana Wynne Jones, etc. For someone who supposedly shouldn't have a spare minute to read I'm compiling quite a list of materials!
I still can't shake the nostalgia that I KNOW I would have a larger and dedicated fanbase if I'd posted tOC and tOaW (heh, nicknames) on sq pre-DH. But it's up to me to promote it more -- and I realized that I never did do anything for my phoenix song account. Never a single story added. Do you think it's too late to revive it?
Yeah, I don't regret it either. :-)
