Well, loyal readers, an update:
1. I failed my second driver's test on Wednesday. What really, really burns me about this time is that I drove myself to the test, I practiced driving with my instructor for almost an hour beforehand, and I was doing really well, and then I failed the test because of a stupid critical error 150 feet out of the parking lot. I didn't even get to show off my mad parallel parking skillz.
But hey, at least I was 150 feet out of the parking lot, and not 50 feet! Like last time...
I seriously do not like the local DMV. But my instructor is being a perfect brick throughout, which is really good to know.
2. I've resolved a few tangles in Ollivander. I may actually have a clear road map ahead of me now. And rereading my old stuff (god, it feels like forever ago since I wrote it - senior year of high school) is also helping me to remember who these characters are. I'm also finding a lot that I can just, cleanly, cut, without detriment to the story. Wow!
3. For those of you who want to read it, it's here:
The Ollivander Children.
I'm up to Chapter 9 and will be posting chapter 10 tomorrow morning. Check it out! :D
4. Professor M said that my theoretical book title, "The Crown of Silk," sounded really cool! (Well, not in so many words, but he did seem really impressed.)
5. Head cold, which I think is migrating to a chest cold, but it could simply be evaporating and giving me an easier time of it. Yay!
6. I sent another Professor the pseudo-introduction I wrote last fall to my paper on epics (Beowulf, Mac Flecknoe, Paradise Lost, Rape of the Lock), written in iambic pentameter and epic style. She asked if she could read it aloud to her current class. I was like XD.
