Lovely weekend

I had a wonderful relaxing weekend. I visited my Mom in the country and just lazed around.

On Friday we celebrated my youngest sister's birthday. There was smoked fish salad and afterwards coffee and and a delicious sugar- & lactose-free strawberry cake. A couple of our family friends were also there and all in all it was fun.

On Saturday I got my hair trimmed - much cheaper to do out of town - and then we wondered around the mini-shopping centre where the hairdresser was located. I didn't really find anything interesting to buy, so saved money on that fron as well :). Money-saving is a big issue in view of my soon-approaching trip to Scotland...

In the evening we first went to sauna and then barbecued some steaks and bacon&cheese mushrooms. I thought how wonderful Finnish summer is! Warm summer days, relaxing in the sauna, barbecuing and having some beer in & out of the sauna. If there had been a lake (or the sea) anywhere near the sauna, it would have been perfect. Unfortunately my mother's house is situated in the middle of the village with no lake in the vicinity.

Today we covered the currant bushes with nets (to prevent birds eating the berries), I sat outside for a while and read, but left on the 2.30 p.m. bus home because I had to go and buy some food and milk for next week, etc. as my fridge was pretty empty.

ETA: I'll probably not be buying the new Harry Potter until later. I haven't even read the previous book yet, and waited almost a year before it's publishing to get it (and got it for about half the initial price)...
