Hana Yori Dango (1995)
Bwahahahah, I really really should have watched the 1995 Hanadan movie sooner, it was such a fun experience :).
All the people I recognize are so young in it! And Tanihara Shosuke with that greasy hair and shirtless vest looks nothing like that restrained and quiet doctor from Love Shuffle or the announcer from Ousama no Brunch XD... Heee!!!! Not to talk about Fujiki Naohito's Rui...
I guess that even though I haven't read the manga, I've seen enough other versions of this story to be able to follow most of it without any trouble, even though I didn't understand more than a few words of the dialogue.
Since this is a movie version, the story is quite condensed with only some of the main scenes included: Makino & Domyouji meeting, she getting bullied, falling for Rui, Shizuka appearing and going away, beach scene with Rui and Makino kissing and getting misunderstood by Domyouji, Rui going after Shizuka on Makino's advice, some alienation and inevitable getting together by Makino & Domyouji.
Two conclusions I made while watching this movie:
1) Poor Domyouji, despite all his riches he can't even afford a shirt most of the time.
2) Older dramas/drama based movies clearly have better kissing than nowadays.

Heh, I really have a hard time recognizing this as Tanihara Shosuke! He's so young and tanned and so on. Besides, just the idea of him having appeared as Domyouji is a completely mindf*ck.
