A little while ago, I decided to finally cave in and buy myself a portable music player. This might seem weird to some, but I've NEVER had one, not a cassette player, not a cd player, and definitely not an mp3 player. Since I already (mostly) inaudibly hum along to the music playing in my head, what would happen if I were listening to some actual music...
At first I was thinking of getting a portable CD player, since it's not always easy to find stuff that will work with this old a computer and OS, but then I decided to google a bit and ended up ordering a 1 Gb mp3 player that is compatible with USB 1.1 and Mac OS 9.x.
It arrived today and I've just spent a while busily trying to decide what songs to load to it :). Kuro (yes, I've named it) is a small, cute, black player that should also be able to display video files (mp4, amv, dmv) - I haven't tried that feature yet. Now I just need to visit the library to check out the user manual on a PC, since that wouldn't work on my Mac.
I did manage to fumble through the controls enough to set the default language to English instead of French, and to find the menu to play music, which is enough for now, but for any other features I need to check out the manual on what buttons to press :).
