Books & films

My interests tend to to go in cycles. Recently I was in a book reading phase, but at the moment I'm moving into a game-playing/Bollywood phase. I tend to have these periods of wanting to read books, watching films, watching Bollywood films, playing computer games, etc. - that seem to be mostly mutually exclusive, but not always.

I've just read three more J.D. Robbs (books 6-8). I find the lovemaking scenes are becoming repetitious while the crime scene descriptions stay as good as ever, which makes me wish for more cirme stuff and less romance, though I usually love the combination of both in this series *rolleyes*.

I'm also feeling like I should talk about the latest Dark-Hunter novel I read. Seize the Night arrived finally - I'd only been waiting for it for a couple of weeks (gnashing teeth at the wait :P). It again gave major hints for the big plot in this series but kept enough secrets to keep the readers guessing as badly as ever... Who and what is Katra, what will happen with baby Marissa, more questions about Ash, etc???

Lamhe
Old Yash Chopra film that was a very good love story. I cried in the end, which is pretty unusual.

In the first half Anil Kapoor's character (Viren) is in love with Sridevi's (Pallavi), but she is older than him and in love with somebody else. She and her love get married, produce a child and die in an accident. Viren refuses to see the child though he visits India every year for Pallavi's death ritual.

When Pallavi's child Pooja is 18 she becomes determined to meet her godfather. Viren is horrified by the resemblance between her and her mother. When she and her nanny (Waheeda Rehman in a very good role) visit England and his home he can no longer ignore her. He still tries his best to resist her but in the end finds it impossibe.
