Still more Taiyou no Kisetsu...

Episode 6

In the end of the previous episode, Eiko and Tatsuya ran away together and now they aren't answering the phone. But I'm sure it's not over yet, I just know that Eiko's mother is not going to give up her control of Eiko that easily :P.

They are very cute together in the park struggling with the water faucet and getting drenched in the process, but then reality also raises it's head, since Eiko didn't take anything with her when they left her house. But *major AWWWWWWW*, he goes to her and dries her hair with his own shirt!!! *swoon*

ARGH, that voiceover is making me awfully apprehensive! 'If I had only let go your hand, you wouldn't have met with that cruel fate'... It really is a "voiceover-of-doom", as somebody called it :P.

Heh, I love how nervous both Eiko and Tatsuya are when he takes her to his apartment, saying nobody should find her there. And he says that she can stay there for a while, since he's the one who told her to leave her home. They are both so hesitant with each other in the scene, I loved it! *squee*

Those two tiny flowers he's been taking care of clearly remind him of his home town, since he tells Eiko that they grow all over there, but then he mentions his father, and remembers again his plans.

With Eiko he always forgets about his revenge and just enjoys her company, but whenever he's reminded of the past, he turns cold and ruthless again.

That maidservant of Eiko's mom's really is a complete loonie, going everywhere and claiming that Tatsuya kidnapped Eiko. Even one of Tatsuya's rich friends hears of it, when she goes to his parents' hospital and finds her raving to the doctor there.

When Kouhei teases Eiko and Tatsuya about being a couple and living together, it's funny at first, but then Tatsuya snaps out that it's not like that at all. Eiko looks suprised and even a little hurt at his vehement protest and at his words when he says that he took her away, so he can't just leave her stranded. She was clearly hoping for more, and it is very clear to the viewers that Tatsuya likes Eiko very much, but he's still very much in denial about his feelings.

Of course the guy who heard the news in the hospital rushes out to tell everyone the big news that Tatsuya has kidnapped the girl he has secretly been seeing. Yuki looks murderous and Shinji doesn't look that happy with the news either. It's almost like he's jealous that Tatsuya might be going out with someone, the way he's protesting at the news and saying he'll prove it's not true.

It gives almost as strange vibes as does the relationship between Eiko's mother and the maid who seems so obsessive about doing anything to please her mistress :P. She's blaming Eiko for her mistress's anger and says that she's always cared more for her than Eiko ever has. After the way It's she has devoted her entire life to serving Eiko's mother, it's obviously a devastating blow to her when Eiko's mother says to her that "You are nobody to me. The only person I need is Eiko."

I really like Kouhei! He's telling Tatsuya that he's looking good now, but he'd better not hurt Eiko-chan! It would probably also be better if he didn't hang with the rich crowd, since he doesn't really belong with them.

EEEEE! Eiko and Tatsuya are so cute, the way they are both a bit tense and nervous about every look and every word is making me grin. And the way they say farewell at the door, when Tatsuya has to leave for work and just stand there smiling and staring at each other. Made me squee a lot!

What right does Shinji barge into Tatsuya's apartment and start interrogating Eiko about her role in Tatsuya's life? He doesn't own Tatsuya, even though it looks like he thinks he does. And it looks like he's intent on driving Eiko away, the way he's telling her that her family is making things very difficult for Tatsuya. Isn't she ashamed of herself? Tatsuya is only letting her stay because he is such a nice guy. *wants to punch him!*

Just like with Kouhei, he's trying to make anyone Tatsuya cares about stay away from him :P. Of course, Eiko believes every word, and I'm sure she's going to do something stupid and self-sacrificing thinking she is going to be protecting Tatsuya :P.

Then Yuki is in the office confronting Tatsuya about the rumours about him and Eiko and asking if he really knows her? But he isn't answering her, and then he throws back her own words to her, saying "Wasn't it just a fling?" and coolly warns her not to raise her voice because people will hear her. He can be so very cruel sometimes! Yuki tries to kiss him, but he just brushes her off and walks away from her.

And next Shinji is in the office. His father looks cynically amused at Tatsuya's sudden popularity :P. He's a rather strange character, but then almost everybody in this drama seems to have some unsavoury elements about their characters.

Shinji is telling Tatsuya that he'll prove their friends that he did nothing wrong and that he'll spread a story that Eiko started harassing him. Tatsuya looks very suspicious when Shinji tells he met Eiko, but when Shinji tells that he sent her home, he's clearly very upset. But this time it's he who gets his own words thrown back on his face, since Shinji tells that he told once that she was bothering him.

But when Shinji tries to get Tatsuya leave with him, Tatsuya finally snaps and tells Shinji not to mess with his life and to leave the two of them alone. Shinji looks like he has no understanding that he did something wrong and even has the gall to ask Tatsuya who is more important to him, Eiko or Shinji? Like it's some kind of a popularity contest :P.

The way Tatsuya reacts, throwing his arm away from his shoulder, and the murderous look he gives Shinji should clearly answer that question...

As does the way Tatsuya rushes away from the office, trying to get to Eiko as fast as possible and to stop her from leaving him. Then he finally comes across her on the street (in fact it looks like it's the same street crossing where they originally met each other :)).

She looks so sad and determined and he's, of course, out of breath from having run all over town trying to find her. They are just staring at each other and then she tries to run away from him again.

Poor Eiko is apologizing and saying that she's only a burden to him, but I loved how Tatsuya yelled at her that she is NOT a burden! And there's this disbelieving look on hope on her eyes, and then he takes her arm and they are walking back hand in hand with a very determined look on Tatsuya's face. EEEEEEEEE!

But OMG!!!! Just as Shinji has told everybody that Tatsuya isn't coming, because some bigshot relative of his is in town, there is Tatsuya with both Eiko and Kouhei! And the way Tatsuya is looking at Eiko, it's like he's asking her for strength to do this.

Then he tells the group that Kouhei is an old friend of his and that the girl is Izumi Eiko-san, the one he has been accused of kidnapping. I loved the look on Eiko's face, when she hears his declaration that "I feel at peace when I'm with her". The he tells Shinji that he hated him and always had and only got close to him so that he could hurt him, because his father committed suicide after Wakaba Bank cut off his financing.

But mixed with this is also the fact that he envied Shinji and the way his family background gave him all the things that Tatsuya worked so hard to accomplish. So he wanted to hurt Shinji and to steal from him the most precious things he had. It can't be comfortable to Yuki either to hear these words and know that he only seduced her in order to hurt Shinji!

Shinji is initially totally disbelieving at Tatsuya's words, but Tatsuya just keeps saying that he's sorry, but they are the truth. He can't lie to himself or to the others anymore.

I found it very interesting that Shinji's father is the one who seems most disgusted by the whole lot of them!

He heard everything that was said and after Tatsuya's declaration asked him what exactly was he trying to accomplish? All of them are just worthless brats who are leeching their parents money and know nothing of real life. If Tatsuya wanted something, he should have gone after a bigger goal and nothing as petty as this.

Still, it must be a huge relief to Tatsuya that all his lies and deceptions are now revealed. He and Eiko and Kouhei look so carefree in the park, and I loved the piano lesson she gave him and the way Kouhei silently slipped away when they weren't noticing :).

They look so happy for a while, but then that evil voiceover-of-doom is back, telling that Tatsuya let the happiness slip away :/. And, of course, now both Shinji and Yuki want to get revenge on Tatsuya for the things he did... I dread seeing what is going to happen, since there are still several episodes left!

I can well understand why people feel so conflicted about this drama, since I feel that way as well. The good parts are very good, but almost everything outside the OTP cuteness comes out as so sordid and petty. Well, Takki looks obviously gorgeous, as always, but Tatsuya's motivations for hurting Shinji and the means he used are also among the more unsavoury parts of this drama :P. Eiko and Kouhei seem like the only innocents among the characters, and I'm sure they are just going to end up hurt in the end...
