BRILLIANT film!!! I definitely got my money's worth of entertainment with this one! The second film was a bit disappointing, but this one sure delivered the goods! Lots of swashbuckling, action, humour, etc. I really enjoyed it!
This is going to be very disjointed, since I'm still on a high from the film and haven't yet assimilated it all. I must see it again, and soon!
OMG! They killed off Norrington! And Will is now immortal and the captain of the Dutchman! Didn't see that one coming...
I loved the various betrayals and scheming by all the characters, surprisingly enough, even Keira Knightley failed to annoy me in this one. Great job by all the leads. Even Orlando Bloom has grown as an actor, and was looking very nice in this film :). He was clearly channeling Errol Flynn...
Oh yeah, and I loved Keith Richards' special appearance *g*.!
I loved the scenes in the first half of the movie, when the Pearl was traveling in icy waters and then in a sea full of stars. Gorgeous! The Davy Jones' Locker scenes were delightfully surreal, like my friend said, it was like something from a Salvador Dali painting. I loved it!
The multiple Jacks were hilarious! I really liked the humour in this film. Another fun scene was Will and Elizabeth's wedding in the middle of a fight, with Barbossa as the captain doing the ceremony. And they were all fighting for their lives at the same time, until the wedding kiss part :).
I love it that technology has developed enough that nowadays special effects look real. You really can't tell the difference between a real scene and a speciall effects scene any more. I was thinking of this when The Endeavour was being bombarded by both the Pearl and the Dutchman and there were pieces of wood flying everywhere and Cutler Beckett was walking through the wreckage.
I must have the soundtrack! The main theme of the films is a major earworm and now I can't stop humming it :).
I can't think of anything more to say right now, but I'm sure I'll think of several things later on when I've had some more time to think about the movie. But, simply put, I loved it!
And as always, don't leave the theatre before the credits have run, because there's a nice short scene after them.
