Oh Makino! Oh Domyouji! Oh Rui!
i.e. The Hanadan craze continues...
Seeing the kiss that ended that last episode, the devastated Makino quietly back away from the plaza and misses seeing what happens next. Tsukasa completely spurns Shigeru's advances and tells her to go away. He keeps looking around in the hope of spotting Makino, and keeps fighting with Shigeru.
Rui, having heard from the other two that Makino is meeting Tsukasa, but he might me meeting Shigeru as well immediately leaves to go to Makino. Oh Rui, he's so clearly setting himself up for a major heartbreak. Sigh.
The heart-broken Makino is totally lying when she tells Yuki that she decided not to go to the meeting after all, and gives some lame excuse about her college application as an explanation. When Yuki asks did she even call Tsukasa, she just says that he probably wasn't going to show up anyway, because he doesn't care about her anymore. Oh, Makino, how wrong you are :(.
Then Rui arrives at her workplace, to take her off. BTW, I never noticed it before, but Oguri Shun looks very tall standing next to Inoue Mao. I'll have to check how tall he really is.
And poor Domyouji is still waiting and waiting (and Shigeru is spying on him).
And in the mean time, Rui is asking Makino that wasn't she supposed to meet Tsukasa and what happened, since Tsukasa had told the others that he was going to meet her. Poor Rui, Makino being in denial and saying there's nothing between her and Domyouji anymore just gives him hope that he might have a chance with her :P.
And when Rui says that Tsukasa is probably still waiting for her, since that's what he's like, she immediately flashes back to Domyouji waiting for hours for her in the pouring rain on their first date.
And then it's night and Tsukas is still waiting for her to arrive, even though it seems hopeless at that point. Oh Domyouji! He really is persistent when he decides to do something. Then again, Shigeru is also still watching and spying on him in the background, though they both are clearly getting cold. Then Nishida arrives with a summons from the forces of evil. But, of course, Shigeru also hears that it was Makino Domyouji was waiting to meet...
Then it's time for "The Imperial March" (BTW, I absolutely LOVE that it's The Imperial March that is the ringtone of the golden monstrosity :D), but Makino isn't answering the phone. Then the freaky Shigeru is suddenly in her room and says that her phone is ringing - isn't she going to answer it?
Darth Kaede really loves twisting the knife in her son's gut :P. When Domyouji accuses her of keeping Makino away, she tells him that Makino was there, but went away of her free will and asks him to think a bit as to why... And then he realizes that Makino must have seen the kiss and misinterpreted it. Poor guy!
Shigeru barging into Makino's home and then even spending the night there is extremely pushy. Poor Makino, she probably would have liked to wallow in sorrow all on her own, and then her rival shows up making it impossible to do that and even asks if they can be BFF! How horrible for her.
Heh, Makino is ranting about Tsukasa to the F3 at the lounge and then he shows up and says that she was the one who stood up him and what is really going on? And then they are fighting again until she barges off.
Heh, and Rui quietly follows her with his book, while Tsukasa blurts out something about "the monkey-girl" showing up.
Heee, and then Rui's in the stairwell and hears Makino ranting about Tsukasa and Shigeru's kiss, and finds out why she really didn't go to meet Tsukasa *g*. Heh, the next thing she's asking Rui to help her study. She's so oblivious at times...
Makino is telling Rui about her dream to become a lawyer in the library, when he asks if Shizuka influenced the choice. To which she replies that yes, she wants to become like Shizuka: "a strong woman". And then he tells her (looking very happy) that Shizuka is coming back in two weeks.
Something must be wrong with the Domyoji corporation, because Darth Kaede is looking very frustrated and tired, and, dare I says it, even sad after some business meeting. It seems the dynastic marriage is supposed to do something to help the situation, but, of course, appearances must be kept up at all cost.
Nishida clearly knows what's going on (as does perhaps Domyouji, too?) and is trying to help everyone.
Still, Domyouji is telling Shigeru that "I'm sharing my destiny with someone else, not you!" Oh Domyouji, once you make up your mind, you sure go all the way to make your choice come true. Still, his cold reception of Makino in New York has a lot to do with the problems they are having now, Shigeru or no Shigeru, since Makino thinks he doesn't love her anymore.
OMG!!! Akira's house hilariously horrific. The babydoll mother, the gigantic bunny in the corner, the extremely tacky decor and all. ROFL! Poor Akira looks so exasperated but resigned by everything. Then the twins, they are so cute!
Love Akira's comment that they should now understand why he's attracted "older, more mature women" now :D. He sure doesn't have any of those in his home...
Aww, when Shoujiro sees Yuki at Akira's, he immediately turns to escape from the situation. He's so uncomfortable with the way Yuki clearly cares for him. But Yuki runs after him.
Then Domyouji's there and he and Makino are having a discussion about what happened. She's praising Shigeru's good qualities and saying that she doesn't want him to say anything, while he clearly has his heart in his eyes when he's looking at her and hoping that he could make everything better, but she's just saying that there's nothing to talk about anyway and that she doesn't want to see him again. She's saying good-bye...
Sigh, they really are so messed up at this point! And both are deeply unhappy, but just can't work it out, because they both are hurting so much. Poor kids.
Then Makino walks away, crying, and Rui having seen her leave in tears is running after her. And he, too, looks like he has tears on his eyes. OH RUI, you'll end up hurt if you go for Makino!
And Domyouji is staring at the box with the cookie Makino baked for him. And Makino is staring at the new cookies she had intended to give him as his birthday present.

So, it seems some thoughtless words of Domyouji's were probably behind the guy in his nightmares jumping off the roof. And now Darth Kaede is reminding him of the incident just to keep him away from Makino and still engaged to Shigeru, since the marriage seems the only way for the company's situation to get better.
Aiyeee! Makino is already mentally and physically exhausted and then she come home to find Shigeru who ecstatically proclaims that Domyouji asked her to be his girlfriend. Makino looks completely blank and hopeless while Shigeru is embracing her and crying in happiness! Poor girl, what a horrible situation! She has tears in her eyes, too, but can't show them and has to act like she's happy about Shigeru's news, even though inside, she's completely devastated.
Heh, I love how Rui is always peaking from behind a book during the F4's conversations. He immediately perks up when the talk turns to Makino and how it's over between her and Domyouji. And then he's just coolly rocking on the chair, reading his book, while Domyoji tries to pretend he doesn't care a whit about Makino any more.
Both Tsukasa and Tsukushi are so clearly unhappy when they are apart, but have to pretend otherwise. Makino is completely throwing herself into her studies and her night job and Domyouji tries to start liking Shigeru and accept his position in the family company. But, of course, it doesn't work that way.
*sniff* The way Tsukasa bit on that gift cookie of his and then threw the rest in the trash!!! *holding back tears* Nishida's saying that he hopes there are no regrets and says he's "on the side of justice" - whatever that means?
Then Makino collapses from over-exhaustion and is rushed to the hospital, while Domyouji is on an apparently important family dinner that has been arranged in honor of the new couple. Then Nishida gives Tsukasa a note saying that Makino has been taken to the hospital, but further details are unknown (I suppose the "side of justice" means he's a Tsukasa/Tsukushi shipper after all).
After a few moments of thought, HE RUSHES OUT OF THE ROOM AND RUNS TO THE HOSPITAL! EEEEEE! (Loved the look on Nishida's face when that happened *g*.)
On something *completely* unrelated to Hanadan, I think I'll have to change my current desktop picture (probably not worksafe) to another one, because the current one is proving a bit too distracting. I've caught myself staring at it a few too many times when I was supposed to do something else...
