Since I am not sure I'll be able to come, I will be game to organize a vid show. :)

There are the few ideas I had:

+ European fandom based videos (movies/TV)
+ AU within a given fandom / AU fandom crossover (I was thinking that maybe *that* project could be a panel more than a vid show)
+ TV show or movies remake (vids from both the original source and the remade one, like BSG, Star Trek, Bionic Woman, Hawaii Five-O...)
+ Strong female characters
+ Trailers

Ohh, I personally really like the idea of a panel on AU or crossover work--there are so many amazing constructed reality vids out there. If it was a show, I think it would be great to have at least some discussion after. Perhaps if you didn't end up being able to attend you could work with someone else to compere discussion around it? (Just a thought!)

Thanks for your ideas! :)

I thought that it could be interested to see how a "narrative crossover" work and a AU within the "same" universe are edited and thought, so yeah a discussion seems a good option even if it's a vidshow!

I'll be happy to work with someone even if I don't attend! :)

I like all of these ideas, but I find the Trailers show most exciting -- I've seen and enjoyed the odd trailer, but never had a whole vidshow full of them. It would be cool to pair with a panel about what's interesting/different about trailer vidding compared to the music video format.

Floating our own ideas! :)

'Made in the UK' vidshow (like last time), perhaps to open the programming.

I like that idea a lot! :)

Two thumbs up from me! (Though don't let me anywhere near it or else it'd be an hour of nothing but Doctor Who. >.>)

Love it! I think this should be a staple of vidukon every time. :D

Whee puppies! Love it! Is this something you'd consider putting together yourself or are you looking for a taker? :)

I think I could manage a show about puppies

My idea: a panel on character study vids, how they can be constructed, different approaches, etc, including viewing of a couple of vids and discussion of them (might be a 1.5 hour thing in order to have discussion as well as some viewing).

We're likely to keep this as a back-up idea as we're really keen to get other people involved first, but I'm posting the idea here to gauge what if any interest there is in it, just in case. :)

I second the character study vids idea, but I think it needs to be coupled with a show as well (like a show and then a panel). Kind of like Race and Representation and Vidding at VVC had a show and then a panel which followed.

I would be happy to work on this with you! I adore character studies.

Yeah, it would definitely need some viewing as well as some discussion. I was actually thinking of getting away a bit from the rigid 'vid show and then panel' format and mixing up vids throughout... but if that's a) too complicated or b) people think it's not a good idea, then I'm open to doing the combo thing too. I'm malleable! Or it's malleable... or something.

It would be great to work with you on something! :D :D We'll see how things go, interest-wise. :)

The problem is one of structure. Mixing it up is something that will require lots of good planning, or else the panel's structure will suffer and lend things to confusion and possible distractions for the audience, rather than helping them focus. In a nutshull: I don't know that it's do-able. In theory, maybe. In practice, not so much ( ... )

As previously mentioned, I'm still up for VJing a "Best of Festivids" show.

I'd dearly love a hands-on tech panel for Mac vidders, on any topic at all. I would be especially thrilled if anyone wanted to give a crash course in Apple's Motion or Color (both part of Final Cut Studio), but I'm not holding my breath. (:

Oh, I love both of these ideas!

Are you a Mac girl too? (How didn't I know that?) Even if we don't have something formal, I'm just going to say right now that I'd be more than happy to be bailed up for any discussion of 'ok, how do YOU do it?' / 'which tools do you know how to use and can we trade knowledge of them?' Either in person or online. Any time.
