Go Sabres, etc etc. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are here again, and the Sabres are now the #1 seed in the NHL (and subsequently the Eastern Conference). So let's get down to the playoffs!
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals (Round 1)
Buffalo Sabres - 4
New York Islanders - 1
The Sabres won game 1 at home, lost game 2, and then somehow managed to win games 3-5, sending them to Round 2 of the playoffs.
Eastern Conference Semifinals (Round 2) As of April 25, 2007
Buffalo Sabres - 1
New York Rangers - 0
The Sabres come out in the series and silence their critics and the overconfident New York Rangers with a convincing 5-2 win. The Rangers swept the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round, and came into Round 2 expecting to continue their success. Unfortunately for the Rags, the Buffalo Sabres are not the Atlanta Thrashers.
And that's as far as we have gone in the playoffs so far. This should be an exciting year for the Sabres. Etc etc.
