I've been using Premiere Pro CS3 with AviSynth since I started vidding, but I recently switched to Mac and am faced with the daunting task of porting my pre-production techniques to a very different set of programs. I've always deinterlaced/inverse telecined my footage before I began editing, using scripts in AviSynth. How do I do that when ripping DVDs so I can clip from them without worrying about interlacing issues? Or do is there some magical clipping/deinterlacing combo I should know about? I know that Final Cut has some deinterlacing in-house but I'd prefer not to mess with that.
The DVDs in question are all NTSC, 29.98 except possibly for menus, same old same old.
