Hello! I'm tentatively stepping into vidding waters, and having to hold my breath is making me very, very dizzy.
Before I ask my two questions: I currently have Windows Live Movie Maker, which appears to be quite different (looking at tutorial screencaps) from plain Windows Movie Maker. I am not currently willing or able to spend money on vidding, so I'll have to stick to free software. Though I'd like to start small and plain, I'm definitely interested in learning about the ins and outs of vidding eventually. I've finally decided to vid due to a severe lack of fanvids for The Bourne Trilogy, which I've fallen in love with.
Now for my questions! I've been looking through tutorials, links lists, and walk-throughs most of the morning, and there are two things that are pretty much the only things I want to know right now and are the only things I'm either completely missing or am just too clueless in tech-speak to understand are there.
1) How do you make small clips out of a movie-length video for assembly into a fanvid? Is there any specific software I'm missing that is good for this?
2) How do I take the audio (dialogue, soundtrack music, etc.) off the clips?
Thank you so much for any help!
