Okay, I'm pretty nervous about this... I'm late because I decided to redo it for the 50-millionth time, and then my internet wouldn't let me upload. Ack. Oh well, here goes nothing! D:

Hey there, I'm Cozz and I'm gonna comment on Laura Shapiro's work "Hurricane." It's a crossover between Farscape and Battlestar Galactica, and it's about the characters Aeryn Sun and Starbuck. Basically, this vid is an appreciation for these two women who are both female pilots, they're both kinda rowdy, they kick a lot of ass, you know, they have a lot in common, and that's really what these introducing are showing, is their attitude and they're involvement with these two men. Starbuck has a pretty big relationship with Lee, Aeryn has this relationship with John, and they're both push and pull, and that's really what the song is about, it's about, you know, these women who, they get through some pretty hard times, but they keep going, and, you know, they're just... they're very self-destructive, but at the same time, they're very persistent, and that's really why I love these two women in general. So I think that's why Laura Shapiro picked this song, and why she matches the clips for these two characters, because they have a lot in common, and the song fits them both very well.
The clips in the beginning are mostly their appreciation--sorry, they're connections to each other, you know, they've both had abuse, they're both, you know, they've got a lot of flaws, they both get involved in a lot of fights, and they're both very, very strong, both physically and mentally, but at the same time, they've been through hell, and they keep--they keep going. And that's really what's the most admirable quality for both of these women, and Laura Shapiro really shows that in these clips.
So we zoom in to our space ship and we're headed off to the space station where these two women are gonna meet. And really, this vid is a not-very-subtle vid. Basically, they meet in this bar, and they go off, and they have their drinks, and they look at each other meaningfully, and they have their sex scene. And that does sum up a pretty big portion of this vid, but it's really not what it's about, which is the appreciation for these really fantastic female characters, they really are very very awesome, and I think that's pretty much what she's showing here.
One of the things I really like about this vid is the editing--the sex scene itself, absolutely flawless, I was amazed by that. Also, I really like the match in tone for both shows, the lighting is another flawless factor, a lot of people forget that when vidding, but she matches the lighting in both shows very well. She also, you know, again, seamless clips, one from the other to the other. It's just constantly showing the comparisons between these two characters.
Basically, I think that's pretty much it. I'm sorry if I'm talking too fast, I'm nervous, I really am nervous. Thank you so much Laura Shapiro, and um... I hope I said your name right. I'm signing off now. Bye.
