Yearly review....

Dec 30, 2015 10:07

I've edited this twice to try to separate each question - LJ's being dumb and I don't have the patience for it. :P

1.) What did you do in 2015 that you've never done before?
...Owned my own horse.
...Photographed a horse race.
...Made a road trip by myself.
...Witnessed the birth of a horse.
2.) Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember what, if any, resolutions I made, but honestly I don't usually make resolutions.
3.) Did anyone close to you give birth?
I have a few friends that gave birth, including my friend Dawn, who had her second baby (I got to photograph him!).
4.) Did anyone close to you die?
My Uncle Buster died. It definitely was a little tough to get through because I wasn't expecting it. I had several aunts die as well, although we weren't especially close... it was a bit of a rough year.
5.) What countries/states did you visit?
Arkansas... I think that's it. I didn't travel as much as I'd wanted to this year. Although I did travel to western Kansas for a rodeo, too.
6.) What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
A car of my own! That works!
7.) What date(s) from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory?
The day I started at my new job, the day I brought Willie home, the day I got to photograph American Pharoah, and the day he won the Triple Crown. <3
8.) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Photographing American Pharoah and having one of my photos wind up in the printed Blood Horse magazine! Also getting my dream job, moving out of Phil's place...
9.) What was your biggest failure(s)?
Not editing enough of my photos, probably. There are still people needing/wanting pictures from me. ;_;
10.) Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had one night I had to go to the ER at 5am because I had been throwing up nonstop all night. It was my own fault - I forgot to take my nausea medication with my chemo before bed. And this isn't me, obviously, but my little Ruca was diagnosed with feline hyperesthesia syndrome, so she has little fits of discomfort. :(
11.) What was the best thing you bought this year?
Similar enough to last year - a PS4, haha. It was Tony's Christmas present. I'll be playing it as soon as I get Metal Gear Solid V though. :P Also, my 150 set of Prismacolor pencils. I lost my previous set (!!!!) but I'm happy to have them again. <3
12.) Whose accomplishment(s) merited celebration?
Tony, for coming back out of his summer rut in which he had a meltdown and didn't work for a couple of months. SO GLAD that's over, but he's pulled himself together really nicely. Huston, for the very little I've talked to him, he seems to be doing well avoiding alcohol, but I don't talk to him enough to know for sure. The last time I did, though, it was a good situation. Ondrej, for getting engaged. :D
13.) Whose behavior made you appalled?
I...can't really... think of any? Tony, when he was NOT working, haha.
14.) Where did most of your money go?
Willie and Christmas. So much Christmas. Time to buckle down and focus on a car!
15.) What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Owning my own horse! American Pharoah's Triple Crown victory... My new job, at a horse farm. <3 These all really helped with my health this year and have improved my stamina and fatigue a lot! Especially the new job ;)
16.) What song(s) will always remind you of 2015?
Probably that stupid Uptown Funk song, but I can't hate on it because it creates instant dancing for Kian. ^__^
17.) Compared to this time last year...
Happier, same weight and richer.
18.) What do you wish you'd done more of?
Swimming, praying, visiting Kian, studying how to train my horse.
19.) What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being lazy, spending money.
20.) How did you spend Christmas?
I worked at the horse farm in the morning, then went and visited my mom for a while. I think it was one of the best Christmas days ever, mostly because I got to spend it outside with horses, and everywhere I went it was eerily calm and quiet, no bustle anywhere, and it was my favorite feeling in the world. Tony and I did presents on Christmas Eve.
21.) Did you fall in love in 2015?
Yes, over and over again with Tony. :)
22.) Did anyone you know get engaged this year?
Ondrej :3
23.) Did anyone related to you or someone you know get married this year?
Yes, my coworker from the school, Kristine. :D
24.) What was your new favourite TV program(s)?
Exact same response as last year... I don't watch TV. I'm still trying to watch/catch up on shows from forever ago, namely Fringe, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones.
25.) Do you dislike anyone now that you didn't dislike this time last year?
No, I don't think so.
26.) What books did you read?
Frostborn, by Lou Anders.
Ghost Horse, by Joseph Layden.
God and Jetfire, by Amy Seek.
The Giver, by Lois Lowry.

(I should have read more... I can't remember what else I read)
27.) What was your greatest musical discovery?
I can't really remember. Chemo brain is making these meme things harder to do. -__-
28.) If you could, would you change anything about this year?
Not really. Maybe just try to be more active... Easier said than done on chemo though.
29.) What did you want and get?
A horse! A Triple Crown victory... the opportunity to photograph a horse race (one of my bucket list dreams). A job at a horse farm. These three things really defined my year, apparently.
30.) What movies did you see?
Ant-Man, Avengers 2, Mad Max... outside of theaters, I saw The Lovely Bones, The Devil's Advocate...
31.) What did you do on your birthday & how old did you turn?
I turned 30! Went out for a drink and some appetizers with my coworkers, and some of my friends (and Tony) tagged along too.
32.) What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
An actual vacation, getting to go hang out with friends who live far away, etc.
33.) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
The same as last year. CATS.
34.) What kept you sane?
My horses, my cats, my job, Tony, Rachel, CJ, Jason, Morgan and Ondrej - the usual crew.
35.) What worldwide event(s) captured your attention the most?
The terrible bombing in Paris, the constant struggles in the middle east and Russian/Ukraine countries. Syria. :(
36.) What political issue stirred you the most?
The fact that Donald Trump is still in the running for president. Don't get me started.
37.) Who did you miss?
Jinx, again. Ondrej, Cass, Jason, people who live far away.
38.) Who was the best new person(s) you met?
Sarai, although I techincally "met" her in 2014. She's one of my coworkers at the bookstore and she's awesome. Mostly my coworkers, both at the bookstore and at the farm. And I guess Boogie, the foal who was born. THAT was an awesome, awesome experience.
39.) Tell us a valuable life lesson(s) you learned in 2015.
Things will always get better. I went from having the worst year of my life (2013) to having the best year of my life, only two years apart. I seriously loved this year, so many things went great. I'm looking forward to next year.
40.) Quote a song lyric(s) that sums up your year.
Uhhhh.... not sure.
41.) How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
Probably will stay up until midnight and then pass out as I have to work 7-5 on Friday. :P
Best month(s) this year: April, October, November, December (as always)
Worst month(s) this year: January-March, July/August (I hate the heat, and the first few months were still at Phil's)
Overall the year 2015: The best year ever.
Resolutions For 2015:
Get a working car. That is all.
