A good sign that my co-workers take me seriously
Today I had a cavity filled for the second time in my life. The whole thing was much more terrifying than I remembered it. I also forgot that they numb your mouth and I returned to my office with the funny accent you would expect.
I had been back at the office a full hour and a half but my speech had not improved and I was constantly checking to see if I was drooling on myself.
One of my coworkers and I were going to get coffee but I canceled saying, "I'm alweady habing a hawd enough time with this tea I'm dwinking."
They were confused and said, "Hard time? Why?"
"Because my mouth is numb," I said.
"Why is your mouth numb?"
"Because I just came fwom the dentist. Why do you think I've been talking like this for the past hour?"
"O, I don't know. I thought you were just being you."
