Wiley is getting a name on the street

Feb 25, 2009 19:42

Get up. Go to gym. Shower. Feed dog. Take dog to dog park.

While we are waiting for the light to change a man says, "Is that Wiley?"

The man knows my dog from the roof. The fact that he remembers my dog's name is a point in his favor. Now I will not report him for smoking on the roof.

While I am distracted, my dog is peeing on the lap post. This is bad because this is the corner where the alcoholics stand so I don't want them to have to smell dog pee all day.

Usually I know all the dogs at the dog park and I know what time of day they will be there. Today there are many new dogs. One will not stop barking which is against the rules. We leave early.

Go to Pike Place Market. Go to work. Work late.

For some reason, don't give money to Real Change guy. Kick myself about it. Why didn't I do it? He's so cold. It's freezing out. Run back. Give money to Real Change guy. He goes to get coffee so he can be warm. I see my money in action.

Feed dog. Go to dog park.

Lady does not want her dog to play with my dog. She pulls her dog by the tail to get him away. Every other dog owner but me is stupid.

Dog and I are alone in dog park with man and his two dogs. They all stand still and stare at nothing. A fight breaks out on the street, the most interesting thing around, but the man does not look.

His dog starts boredom barking. It barks and barks. A man from the near by apartments yells and yells for the man to silence his dog. The man stands there, then text messages.

Leave dog park.

"Is that Wiley?"

It is the old man from across the street. He likes to watch Wiley on the balcony.

Outside a woman is crying or laughing? Fighting or playing? It's too cold to go look but Wiley is on the balcony watching so hopefully he'll tell me about it.
