BUN IN THE OVEN!!!!
That's our Bun!! Yes, we actually call the baby Bun. I didn't exactly relish referring to the baby as it for nine months, so we decided to give it a nickname. I made a joke about having a bun in the oven, and it just kinda stuck.. Thankfully, I am not known as the oven!
I am now 21 weeks pregnant, and things are going well. We had some scares early on (I have a history of miscarriage, among other problems) and so I didn't want to say anything til the ultrasound, to make sure everything was okay. And of course, they wound up having to push my ultrasound back - Grrr!
During the ultrasound, Bun didn't want to cooperate - apparently, Bun is camera shy - no good pics of the profile or anything - we have a blurry head, with part of a nose outline - but there is a hand and arm!!! While we couldn't find out the sex of the baby, we were able to tell that everything is fine - ten fingers, ten toes, all the right stuff.
We both have other kids - he has two boys that were given up for adoption (he was a teenager at the time) and I have two boys (8 1/2 and 5) with my ex-husband, but this is our first together, so everyone is very excited. I am suppose to go for another ultrasound in a few weeks, so hopefully we can find out what we are having. If its during the summer, we will take the boys with us to see their new baby brother or sister.
