The question: Do you believe in fate?
My answer: Yes, if only the love of my life [your dad] was standing in front of me instead of you.
I've been waiting for so long for a guy to use that line on me, but I don't believe I had the pleasure of using my answer. Anyway, as I was watching the Scorpion King on Sunday, the Rock's statement, "I make my own destiny" makes me revisit the question. I searched deep within my soul and finally I was able to pull something outta my arse. I've reached an answer and the answer is "Yes, but it can only take you so far. It's up to you to make things happen." I would be lying if I say I don't believe that things happen for a reason. But I would also be lying if I tell you that you can't take control your own destiny. Everyday I would read my horoscope, smile if it's good and ignore it if it's not to my pleasing. For example, I went to the mall on Saturday and as I was walking to pay for my jeans. I saw it hanging there by itself in with the men's sweats, staring at me like it wants me passionately. So I went up to it and grab it and took it to the cashier. It was my size.. on sale.. so what the heck. So how was this fate? Well, if I didn't drive my brother to the eye doctor, I would never be at South Shore Mall. If I wasn't in the mood to check out on sale items, I wouldn't be at Gap. And finally, if I wasn't walking that way to the cashier,I would have never saw it. Fate has bought us together and it was me who decided to make our destiny together. "Credit, please." Too bad I can't say the same for the men in my life.
