I am a trans-woman who is still "married" to my female partner (yes, we married before my transition when I was perceived AND I too perceived myself to be male). We have no desire to divorce and then have a same sex civil partnership in order to maintain the same rights we enjoy as a married couple.

I've been on Facebook and twitter about this but thought I'd also put here in my journal.

The Sunday Times ran a front page story yesterday about equalising marriage and civil partnership under the state. It was also on the BBC news but the Sunday Times story was more detailed.
