Thoughts on transgender #??

Abusive comments in the street

I'm fully aware that some of us have it really bad and are on the receiving end of very nasty abuse. I don't wish to ignore that or trivialise it. Perhaps it's the way we present ourselves and perhaps it's the nature of the area where we are (I seem to be very, very lucky!). But still, I have had my share of negative crap and yes, I always correct people, write to whoever, if necessary and if I had to, I'd report it to the police too.

But whilst I do know myself to be a woman, I also acknowledge I'm a woman with a trans condition and I'm happy to be transparent about it but the fact that I have a trans history is not how I define myself. I'm simply happy to talk about it the way that Kylie Minogue will talk about her breast cancer.

What I'm trying to say (very badly as I'm so tired) is whatever people might say to you on the street, don't let it define you.

As a wise person stated:

You can't control what happens to you but you have complete control over your own reaction.
