Ok, I said a few entries ago that tv, movies, and newspapers often mimic my life in a fanciful confirmation biased way. I mentioned that I was planning a quinceañera for my dog who turned 15 and the paper was doing an article on quinceañeras that same day. Weird, but ok. And today, a mere few days later, I'm watching a sitcom and the episode is about quinceañeras.
If I have any sort of medical thing going on, not only is there at least one occurance of it on a sitcom, but there will be a newspaper article or thing on the news about it. That exact thing happened, too.
But, I think the best one was when my brother was just starting college, and he was feeling a little homesick so we hung out in my dorm for an evening and watched tv. What was on Nickelodeon? Oh, just a Linda Ellerbee special on transitioning from middle school to high school. Ok, not exactly the same thing, but it was still funny. It was some hour long thing on how you're growing up, moving into a bigger, scarier academic environment.
Not to mention the time I grabbed an Agatha Christie novel I hadn't read for a vacation, only to discover it took place on an airplane, then in London, Paris, and a main character was from Amsterdam. That vacation was when I flew to London, then went to Paris, and Amsterdam.
When I went to Ireland (and especially looking forward to the Cliffs of Moher, which were awesome)? The book I read on the plane ride over, a choose your own adventure book for grown-ups, had an ending that involved living in Ireland and eventually driving off the Cliffs of Moher.
Anybody else have eny ridiculous media/life coincidences?
PS: Oh and what theme is the quinceañera on tv? Under the sea, with seahorses everywhere. My favorite animal? Seahorses. I love silly things like this.
