I had planned on writing about two things in this update. Firstly how great 300 is and subsequently various Greek and Persian history that's related to that era and movie, and also I had something in mind for House of Flying Daggers that I've never wrote or spoken about to anyone.
I don't really have time for either of these, however.
When I picked two days of the week to write on, I must admit they were chosen in a rather arbitrary manner. I didn't think about how or when exactly on Friday I would have time to write here. I work till 5 and I hang out with this one girl afterward, so I don't really have time to post unless it's rushed. And I hatttteee hurrying. I suppose I could have written here last night after the sneak, but instead I played MapleStory for four hours. I'm just that cool.
Instead of my original concepts I'm just going to give you a few observations and conversations of mine from when I was working today.
Before doors unlocked today three busloads of children pulled into the theater parking lot. I was horrified. We were soon violated in ways previously only depicted in hardcore pornography and holocaust documentaries, but that isn't the point. The point is that three busloads of children came on a field trip to the movies. And this would be okay if you could somehow justify it historically (or maybe I just think it would be amusing to have a bunch of elementary school aged students watching the gorefest that is 300). What movie did they watch? ...Bridge to Terabithia. Which led to the following conversation:
Me: "I can't believe they brought have of the school to watch this. I never went on a field trip to the movies. Did anyone?"
Andrea: *Shakes head*
Aniefiok: "Nope."
Andrea: "It was always either a museum or the zoo for me."
Me: "Same here, only maybe the cosmosphere or something. But I guess that counts as a museum."
Aniefiok: "I went to the airport!"
Me: "What? Why?"
Aniefiok: "They brought a fire truck there and we got to play on it! I got in trouble though. I turned on the fire hose and sprayed all my classmates with it. My teachers got angry and all of them were like we'll get you back Andy, you'll see!"
Me: "Wow. Personally, I just think it's funny that a black guy sprayed a bunch of white kids with a fire hose. It's like...THIS IS FOR THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT BITCHES!!! GAHH!!! MALCOMN X!"
Andrea: "It's especially funny because it's Andy, who's like the whitest black guy ever."
I need to not work Friday's or shift the other update day to Thursday to accommodate this. Anyway, you'll hear about Sparta, Greece and everything else I was going to say on Monday. Go see 300 in the meantime, it's amazing.
Only I wish they didn't make Xerxes look like a vegas showgirl.
