- I haven't been around much lately and am very behind on everything. The last month or so has been very trying to say the least.
- I was reading a contemporary romance recently, which is quite rare for me. It wasn't bad and had kind of a screwball comedy thing going for it. All through it when the characters got separated and didn't know where each other were, I kept wondering, "Why don't they use their cell phones?" Then I looked at the publication date and it was 1994 and cell phones weren't that widespread yet. I don't think I got one until late 1996 when I started college and had to commute. Isn't amazing how life has changed so much because of one little piece of technology? Writers have a whole lot more to take into account now. Y'know, an episode of Magnum PI wouldhave been over with in ten minutes if Magnum, Rick, TC, and Higgins had cell phones. We really are living in the future. I still want my flying car though.
I do miss from the pre-cell phone days, that if you didn't answer your phone people didn't immediealy freak out. I don't always want to talk to people and just because I have a cell phone doesn't mean I'm always going to answer it. I could be busy or just don't want to talk at that moment. Don't keep calling. I'll call you back eventually.
- Been watching Fairly Legal. I don't particularly like the show I like Sara Shahi. I don't particularly like her character. I love her assistant Leonardo. RDA makes me laugh almost every time he's in a scene. They certainly don't shoot him from the most flattering angles or in flattering light. I'm not someone to knock somebody just because they're caring a little extra weight. I'm firmly in that category myself. I despair at the double chin it gives me. RDA has high cheekbones anyway and now they look like chipmunk cheeks and it makes me giggle when I see him. I wish they would do more with his character. Maybe it's jut that it's RDA but I'm more interested in what was going on between David Smith and Kate's father than I am any of her mediations.
