1An aelfengrape is a magical plant that is relatively easy to grow, so long as it's fed on a monthly basis, and which produces grapes and flowers in all seasons on the same vine and which, along with the leaves, provide illumination equal to a candle; the grapes are highly nutritious (a handful providing a day's nourishment) and extremely potent when used in wine, and the flowers and leaves are also edible.
