Once everyone's been herded into the tent, Ali settles into one of the low chairs. "Please, help yourselves, try whatever catches your interest. There's wine, and jallab. It's sort of a juice, it's made from dates and raisins and rosewater. Spider, would you be a dear and pour the wine for whoever wants it? And Victor, may I safely assume you'll be skipping the wine and having jallab with me?"

*Hook sits closest to Ali, tucking the sword behind him in a practiced manner, thinking he'll have to show it to Spider later. His appetite, as usual, is poor, but he looks over the food with interest as most of it is new to him*

She strokes a hand down his arm once he's sitting, leaning towards him to murmur quietly, "There's several more courses if none of this interests you, darling. I hope you'll like something today."

*he reaches for a basket of bread*

When you are providing the evening, Ali, there will always be something to interest me.

She blushes faintly, but looks quite pleased with the answer.

*There. He's provoked the reaction he was looking for. As a reward to both herself and him, he eats some of the bread*

That makes her even happier, and also frees her to actually eat something herself. She wastes little time in that.

"Perfect assumption," she said, marveling at her surroundings.

"Lovely." She pours herself a glass, then holds out the pitcher in offering to refill Victor's. "I didn't make it from scratch, I bought a bottle of syrup. I'm told it's a very good fruit and ice cream topping too, I think we'll have to try that soon. Next time, perhaps?"

She held her glass out, and nodded. "Sounds like it'd be a fun thing t' make."

"Then we'll have that for dessert next time." She refills Vic's glass.

"Thank you very much." She took another small sip. "It's perfect."

[vicioussweetie]

"You're welcome. I'm glad you like it." She smiles, setting the pitcher down. "Please, try some of the food. How have you been settling into school?"

The alu ki tikki looked interesting, so she slipped a little bit on to her plate. "It's been well. M' rommie is like, my exact opposite. But she's real nice."

"Nice is good. I bet you two can learn a lot from each other."

[victormakesart]

"Yeah. I think so too. Daniel said he's gonna help me paint pictures on paper on th' wall."
