A Christmas miracle (shut up, I know it's June): Magnus has made a friend. Even if Ted's trouble, it's a good sort.

Peter showed up, and was his usual charming self with the captain. I didn't think they'd avoid fighting, but my captain walked away. I am so proud of him. There aren't words for it.

I hope he survives this change.

"Perenor," Eric whispers. "Of all the people from my past to show up, why did it have to be Perenor?" He shakes his head. "I'm so glad Ria's never come to the Nexus..."

"It'll be fine. He's from your past, so you know it'll be okay."

"Yeah, I know. But I never wanted to see him again." He sighs. "I knew being glad my in-laws were dead was going to come back to haunt me..."

"So don't see him. Just ignore him."

"Oh, ha ha." He rolls his eyes. "I have friends."

"Hey, if you don't like my opinions, don't seek them out."

He shrugs. "You don't have to tell everyone what you think of me."

"No, I don't have to."

"I admit to getting a less than favorable impression of that elf. If I may ask, what do you know of him?"

"Not much, really, other than that he's done something to hurt Kory and Terenil and Eric thinks he's a big-bad."

"He seems, like many other villians, to believe himself to be in the right, and to wish to present the 'truth' to the stumbling block in question, through what are perhaps unscrupulous means."

[vicioussweetie]

"Yes, I noticed. But they've made it clear they don't want help, or at least not my help, and goddess help Kory if that's because he's got some stupid chauvinistic idea I need to be protected just because I'm a woman. So I'll just watch and play cheerleader."
