Stuff Happening This Weekend

Today is about as dull, boring, and slow as Fridays get around here. There isn't anything special happening with me today. I'm not even excited that it's the end of the week. About the only thing I'm really looking forward to is the chance to sleep in the next two days. For some reason, it's been a little harder for me to get up on time this week.

This weekend, the Great Lakes Folk Festival is taking place right here in Sunny East Lansing. Between the end of classes in May and the start of classes in the fall, there are usually three major festival/fairs that happen in East Lansing. In May, we have the Art Fair; in June, we have a Summer Solstice Jazz Festival; and in August, we have the Great Lakes Folk Festival. Of the three, this is the one I get the least excited about. I don't get into folk music very much, but sometimes there is something fun to watch. We had some rain yesterday, so now it's warm and quite humid outside. I probably won't bother to partake of many festival events until later in the day. In fact, these days, the ethnic foods are just about the only thing that I find that interesting. Maybe I'll go check out all the arts & crafts, just in case I find something I like. After all, the festival is free, and I don't have to walk that far to get to it.

Tomorrow, from noon to dusk, there is the Capitol Car Celebration taking place on Michigan Avenue in Lansing. I heard of this event last year, and I waited until the late afternoon on a Saturday to go and take photos of classic cars. (See results in this LJ photo gallery). I have a feeling that there are likely to be the same cars on display as before, but I'll go anyway and see what there is to take photos of. After all, it's free.

I'm seriously behind in my movie watching. I will try to do something about that this weekend.
