It’s all almost over
I have one exam left this week before I’m officially done with the second year of college. Not terribly exciting. I look forward to living in the brand new resident life building. I also look forward to the three English courses I have on my plate next semester. It just means this summer will be one of growth and intense studying. I have a hell of a lot I need to learn before I get back to school. To roll with the Majors, you’ve got to know your archetypes and ‘isms’. So, reference, here I come! Fun times.
Yesterday was pretty terrifying for me. I took my Journaling final which… went. I’m Neti-Neti about the whole thing. When I went to hand the paper in, Dr. Buck fished out my de Sade paper. Holy fuck. I couldn’t breathe and I was shaking… and then she flipped over the page, and there stood, in bright red ink, a large A-. I was about to cry with joy. She smiled at me and pumped her fist and said something along the lines of “I read it and went ‘This is it!’”. On the actual paper she wrote:
Dear Kadi,
You really are a writer.
This powerful paper commands attention, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
COMPLETE Elation! I had a few mistakes with formatting, as it’s been forever since I’ve last studied it, but that’ll come next semester. I’ve never felt real pride over something I’ve put my heart in… this, though, this totally evoked that feeling. I was honestly expecting her to tear the paper to shreds.
Anyhow. Just one final to go and I’m home.
This past weekend was amazing. I saw Lane AND Ty.
And today is just beautiful.
