Surgery was on Friday. I hate being almost blind, since getting wheeled around in a hospital bed when you can't see anything and getting talked at by faceless blobs before getting knocked out is slightly disorienting

I was only in the hospital for the surgery, actually. :D It was outpatient (though we weren't sure if it would be outpatient or not going in) and nothing life-threatening. Still got knocked out and still went home with my folks so my parents could be my parents. :)
yo! glad to hear you've survived thus far. I totally get ya about the deeper pain. it's kinda like you've been hollowed out, & that empty space is what hurts... at least, that's the way it was for me.
anyway, hope things continue in a good direction. don't rush the healing! & good luck w/ the wound care, dude.
Yup, I'm surviving, and I think I'm doing better than expected. (Though I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going in, heh.) I've discovered that going up the stairs is easier than anything else, including just walking on flat surfaces. It's very strange. O_o
