Yup, that was it. It took some more finagling on 1and1's side, but that should do it.
Only problem is that 1and1 recommends starting a transfer at least a month before the domain expires, so it looks like I've gotta renew the registration through eNom anyway. My procrastination gets me again! Oh, well. At least I'm giving you more money in these dark recessionary times. :-)
You should be able to do something on the eNom side of things to unlock the domain, which would then allow you to request transfer to 1&1. You just have to prove that you are transferring it to yourself, and it will move over. I did the same thing when I switched from 1&1 to dreamhost, and it was pretty simple. 1&1's FAQ should have info about the specific process involved.

It's turnuprecords.com - obviously nothing there at the moment. A couple of friends and I are still (very slowly) working on the content and design.
And could it be this thing called 'registrar lock,' which is enabled? :-)
I think when I was looking at this yesterday I was beyond tired - I'd just gotten home from a shift from hell. It's making more sense now.
