Near or far, Christmas is the feeling that lives in your heart. Even if we can't celebrate exactly the way that we used to, the holiday spirit can permeate in the good things we do for each other during this time of year. Taking care of each other is what the season should be about. To keep our spirits lifted on cold nights, here's a holiday story for one and all. A bit of pop culture knowledge is helpful, but never required.
Let me invite you into my home, for another special Vice Christmas tale.
Here from the United Kingdom, Yule the Penguin is cozy and enjoying the festive energy.
But what is the holiday without delicious treats? Yule thought ahead and brought something tasty in advance.
Mmmm! Chocolate chip cookies are a classic favorite. Although it can be important to keep tastes and food sensitivities in mind when preparing dishes for others, things like these are easy crowd pleasers. But there's plenty of choices in the kitchen, so grab your favorite and gather around for a Christmas time story.
Here's a favorite of mine, where we return to the place not so far away where all of our familiar friends gather in the wonder of Christmas. ^_^
Christmas lights are always pretty to look at and set the stage for today's tale.
Two freelancers step outside for a smoke break while McCree heads out from likely kitchen duty to join them. You can hear Ashe scold him about mask wear or smoking or both...
What's going on the other side of Christmas land?
Instead of firm words, laughing can be heard instead as the Christmas robots have their hats get rumpled by the cold wind. Zarya sees them having fun and hopefully her heart melts a little, too. Presents from loved ones can thaw chilly relationships, but who will deliver these messages?
The Great Deliverer arrives with parcels stacked all over. The Moroliens and even Blathers get excited to see packages arrive. Presents should go to who they are intended and hopefully not get lost...
For these wayward packages, Rita has sent a Putty to collect presents that don't belong to them and it feels like no one is watching.
But someone is looking after us and our goodies! The White Ranger is here to stop the Putties and help the carriers make a few wishes come true. Christmas is safe once again!
Just like how Santa can't do everything by themselves, a friend or a partner can help even the biggest task feel so much easier. Let's all pull together!
And that's the end of my Christmas tale. There's other parts like Hannibal's benign cake, the annual snowman building, and the discussion of luck on the job, but the best part of Christmas stories is passing them along, adding your own details and adventures. Merry Christmas to all. ^_^
Thank you for reading my story. =) It was a very atypical holiday season this year, but still one filled with love. It gave us a little bit more time, but there's never enough days in the month to spread warmth and cheer. If we can spread the love we have for each other during the holidays to all year long, maybe we can be a little closer to peace on Earth. Merry Christmas, everyone!
