You do it to yourself.....

I went into HMV during lunch today to enter to the horrible sounds of Mark Ronson's re-imagining of 'Just'. It was painful but headed straight down to the vinyl section to see what was out. I largely agree. Pop stars don't have any edge or rebellion to them anymore. Compare the pop stars of the Eighties to today, there is no personality or originality. It's all about conforming and playing the game to sell records. We need some Boy George's and Cyndi Lauper's!

Amy Winehouse was tremendous when she did 'Love Is A Losing Game' at the Brits. I found it a little emotional actually. She stole the show.

The rest of the night was just unbelievably boring (although I enjoyed Kylie). Klaxons had the opportunity to rock things up a bit and instead they get Rhianna in on the act. It was awful!

In defense of Adele, I think she was probably largely baffled at the attention considering she is so new. I've seen her play to about 30 people in Nottingham and she was wonderful. She has oodles of attitude and was thoroughly engaging and fun. However, already her gorgeous songs are being made radio-friendly and bland and she is being dragged into the Music Biz circus including The Brits awarding her whatever award it was because she went to The Brit School.

You should have said that to Mark Ronson. How can 'Best British Male' go to someone who doesn't sing and just does other people's songs. I don't understand.
