Listening to the new Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack really brings back childhood memories. And I just love Fiona Apple's cover of 'Sally's Song'. I can't stop listening to it, dang it! It sounds even better than the original. It sounds more tragic and darker.
I came back from my trip to Hong Kong the day before yesterday. I had a really good time! We were only there for four days and four days felt like it was barely enough at all. I wish we extended our trip to at the very least a week. We did a lot of shopping and since our hotel was situated in Shatin which is an area that is far from downtown, we'd usually just leave early in the morning, spend the whole day shopping and return back to the hotel totally exhausted late at night.
Oh yah, and I went to Disneyland. :D :D :D
That fulfilled my childhood dreams even though the Disneyland in Hong Kong is by far the smallest existing Disneyland and far from the best one. I mean, I've been to the Disneyworld in Florida before but I was only 3 at the time so I don't remember a thing at all. But just being given the chance to go to a Disneyland is enough to make me one very happy kid. The best ride I rode on while I was there was undoubtedly the Space Mountain. They didn't have most of the more famous rides that are available in other Disneylands(think Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Indiana Jones) but at least there was Space Mountain. What surprised me was how I was initially extremely brave and energetic to go on it. To be honest, before this, I've never really been on any rollercoasters worthy of being branded as 'scary'. So I took myself(and the rest of my family members, I'm sure of it. I bet my parents were wondering why their daughter was suddenly brave) by surprise a little when I grabbed Micha's hand, inserted my ticket and ran all the way to the queue. Micha was scared and wanted to turn back but somehow I convinced her to stay. But when the sight of the vehicles came to view, I panicked and started to lose my cool...
Me: Um, Cha, do you want to...you know, turn back and leave?
Micha: It's too late to chicken out now!!!
Me: I suddenly feel a little, um, scared.
Micha: Nooo! We have to ride on it now!
Me: *ulp!*
I half-expected myself to scream the whole way or something but I am proud to tell you that I did nothing of the sort. Barely screamed at all, even. I'm glad that I didn't chicken out because the whole ride was so awesome, omg. I want to go on it again and again and again. I only went on it twice you know! And God knows when's the next time I'll be going to Disneyland again. I love the exhilarating adrenaline rush you get after riding on a rollercoaster. That happy feeling that just fills you straight up with energy, you know? The best part of that day was when it was time for the fireworks. I remember running and running and running in the chilly, night air to get to the front of Cinderella's Castle where everybody had gathered to watch the fireworks...
Oh dammit, this Macbook is nearly all out of battery so I think I will continue this post tomorrow. And I might just post some pictures too. 'Sides, I need to make my Dad a Birhday card right now so wait for my return.
