I made it through two viewings of the finale without a tear

And now I'm crying because television will never be as great again. How pathetic does that sound? Pretty pathetic if you've never seen the show. But if you have, you know exactly what I mean.

Sorry guys for spamming you with posts about Battlestar Galactica for the past few years, but in all honesty, it was one of the most beautiful and imaginative and perfect shows ever created. There wasn't a weak link in its armor. And I hate, let me stress that, I hate to see it end. While it ended beautifully, and it ended on a good note, a hopeful note, I still hate that it's over. I kind of feel like I was flushed out the airlock. I have nothing else to get excited about, lol.

And I honestly don't know how to say this, but I really think this was the high point of television. It will be hard to top this story. It will be hard to find better writing, better acting, better directing, hell, even better scoring. The music is half of what makes the show so damn good.

I can honestly say that I'm going to be thinking about this finale for the rest of the weekend, and probably the rest of the week. It'll take weeks for me to get over the fact that the show has ended. That there won't be another one. I still remember how hard it was to realize Buffy was over. And now I look back and I can watch that show on DVD and it makes me so excited. So I know that eventually I'll be okay with the end of this show, and I'll just take out my DVD set of the complete series and watch it over and over and over again.

And now that this is the third post I've made about the finale, I'm going to slow down, but not before I make my goodbye BSG post tomorrow. I tend to do it for every show that I watch that goes off the air.

If you want to see my review of the episode, aka, just my thoughts on the stuff that happened, here's the link.

And I honestly am begging those of you who never watched the show, to please rent the show from Netflix, or Blockbuster, or download the episodes. Or buy the entire series when it is out on DVD (hopefully in July, as that's when the BluRay complete series is out). I can guarantee that you'll fall in love with it. Even if you say science fiction isn't for you, this show IS for you. It's so much more, and the only way to truly stress this, to get it through to you non-believers, is to make you sit down and watch the show. I've never had a show move me or excite me or thrill me or make me cry the way this show did. So come on, do it for me?
