Dear Heroes, Goodbye
You know, I used to LOVE Heroes. I wish I could say that I still did. Anyone on my f-list should know the love I have for Milo Ventimiglia, but even his beautiful face and the promise of fantastic Kristen Bell cannot make me watch this show.
The first season was awesome. Fresh, fantastic, exciting, intriguing, etc. You name a sweet adjective and it probably described this show.
Then the second season started and I was disappointed. It was definitely in a sophomore slump. I stopped caring whether or not I missed an episode. I thought that maybe the WGA strike was to blame for its poor convoluted storytelling, so I gave it a third shot this season. And I think it's more convoluted and messed up than ever.
I just have some points:
WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW INCLUDING LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE.
1. Hiro's time-traveling used to be cute. Having entire episodes about things that MIGHT not even happen are stupid and they take up time.
2. Past!Peter and Future!Peter cannot be friends. By simple rules of all science fiction they shouldn't even be allowed to SEE each other or it would screw with the space-time continuum! Come on writers! Have you not seen this in thousands of others instances?
3. They just killed Julian Sark David Anders Ahem, Adam Monroe. WTF? I repeat WTF?
4. They totally didn't use Weevil's (Francis Capra) awesome presence on the show very well.
5. And I still don't like Sylar being all Petrelli related. It's stupid and lame, and I just don't like it.
So I'm through with this show. I'm sorry Milo, I love you and all, but you're dating someone who is two years YOUNGER than ME and you're 10 years OLDER than ME. You're still beautiful and all, and I love you, but even YOU can't make me watch this show anymore.
