[Written with a quill:]

Which writing instruments do you generally favor?

[Written with a ball-point pen:]

Are they the same you could find in your worlds?

[Written with a graphite pencil:]

Also, what are all of these named?

[Written with an ink brush:]

Rydia, I'll need to speak to you.

what is technology, seeking a purpose, having the time of his life trying thing

[Beside the top three, Selphie draws in arrows and responds as follows:

Quill: ???
Pen: Pen!
Pencil: Pencil!

Then she switches to voice.]

Why're you writing with a paintbrush?

Thank you. It was amongst the pile of writing instruments, and I believe I've seen them used in Eblan before.

I usually just use a pen or pencil, personally. Although... I suppose the journal could always use a little colour.

[But she'll leave that to the kids who are around that age to do that sorta stuff.]

Eblan?

Some of those inks and pencil are indeed rather colorful. Perhaps I should procure a few for the book.

Eblan is a kingdom far to the south of Baron, ruled by King Edge. It is home to a long-standing ninja tradition.

I was thinking of preparing a book where we could write messages to friends who have left. That way, if they return, they'll know they have friends and allies here.

Ninja tradition. Katanas, throwing stars, ninja magic, secret passages, fighting from the shadows, interesting books you are much too young to look at...

Throwing stars. Ninja magic. Interesting books I'm too young to look at? Cecil, I'm almost 19!

[Cecil doesn't want Selphie finding Edge's porno collection?]

...They have very particular tastes. Only the most imaginative and experienced people can look upon those pictures with no ill effects.

[One can be found behind the throne. It might not have been Edge's.]

So it's a picture book? Are you and your friend a little old for picture books, Cecil?

[voice] puppet_paladin April 16 2011, 23:42:42 UTC
...The sort of picture books with Lamias and Malboros. Many Malboros.

[This is quite possibly the wrongest conversation Cecil has ever participated in.]

So it's a book with monster information in it? How am I too young for that kind of book?

Reply

[voice] yes. er, yes. puppet_paladin April 16 2011, 23:50:11 UTC
...Those pictures are wrong, exaggerated, and not nearly as informative as Edge claims they are! Spines cannot bend that way!

He needs to be transformed into a toad more often. Or to learn not to leave those lying around in his throne room during official visits.
